  • It’s good!
I loved the application process, and I love the overall feel. My only complaint would be that the grit feels just a hair too rough (it’s slightly harder to glide the pencil) But otherwise, it feels and sounds very satisfying, especially for the price!

  • Must buy!!
This product was so easy to install and was such a perfect fit with my iPad! I love how it felt so comfortable as if i was writing on an actual paper taking notes. This product is worth the value it has lasted me such a long time.

  • Wow, definitely didn’t expect it to be good.
Because this is clearly a “knock off” product, I thought it would be okay, but not great. Didn’t want to spend $30-$40 on another brand, so I Figured this would be fine until I changed my mind. Well, I’m happy to report that this is a great find! There are basically zero instructions on how to install, but I’m no newbie when it comes to putting these things on so it wasn’t a problem. The little stickers and “tool” included for install were basically a joke, but they got the job mostly done. I had to switch out from using their silly bubble pusher with the edge of a gift card instead, but it’s no biggie. Even if you’re familiar with using anti glare screens, there is a very noticeable texture to this. The one I keep on my phone, I’m aware feels “weird” to other people, but I don’t notice it. The texture on this iPad protector is VERY noticeable. Like running your finger over 2000 grit sandpaper, or a thick piece of cold pressed watercolor paper that doesn’t have sizing on it, or a rugged woven nylon cloth or something. It’s not aggressive or visibly textured, but you can certainly feel that something is there. This, to me, is actually GREAT. I primarily use my iPad to write, and to draw-both tasks which require I stare at this screen for hours, often while using the Apple Pencil. As far as the rainbow refracting that most people worry about with anti glare screens? I’ve BARELY noticed it, and only if I purposefully tilt the iPad back and forth to look at it. The picture is actually so significantly better on my iPad Pro 2020 that I’ve been confused while looking at the same thing on my iPhone 11pro. the iPhone lacks some....I don’t know, luminosity? So, the iPad’s screen protector definitely doesn’t inhibit the image in any way. Heck, it might be the sugar on top that’s making things look better for all I know! As for drawing texture? Feels so great. Seriously, a complete and total pleasure to draw on. I do worry that removing that icy slickness will dull the tip of my pencil faster, but honestly? Totally a price worth paying. I’ve drawn directly on glass screens before and while you can eventually get used to it, something just doesn’t quite feel right. On the other hand, there is no adjustment period whatsoever while using this anti glare film-you immediately get the tactile feedback you’re used to with “real” materials, and the tiny extra bit of friction between protector and pencil is a blessing. If you’ve ever had the tips of your lines “flick” slightly while just writing/drawing on the glass screen directly, you’ll be surprised at how much more precision and control this baby gives you. Totally recommend. ... show more

  • Decent Paperlike alternative for now.
I'm an illustrator. Started out traditional as soon as I was old enough to hold a pencil. Turned to digital before high school. Graduated college with a degree in "Digital Imaging" focused on digital art and illustration. That was 10 years ago and despite a career outside of the arts I've been dabbling in it ever since. The whole reason I purchased an iPad Pro was to basically force myself to get back into it more seriously. But one thing I immediately hated about it was the incredibly slick glossy glass display. Why Apple doesn't offer a matte option for this tablet targeted partially at digital illustrators/painters is beyond me, but that's another product review. I heard all the rave reviews about the official Paperlike matte screen films for iPads so I immediately ordered one of those for mine. Unfortunately between COVID and their backorders here I am a week and a half later and I don't even have an ETA from across the pond. In the meantime I decided to try out one of these. Pros: - Cheap! It's about half the price of a legit Paperlike with standard shipping. I have yet to try those so I'm not sure how the actual quality stacks up. But for the money this is no slouch. - Somewhat forgiving installation. Although not at all what I'd consider "easy". To be fair, the 12.9" iPad is a big surface. So it's going to be hard to get it on there bubble free. I did because I had to do this for years working in retail support and I'm very cautious and methodical about it. To the inexperienced I could see it being a nightmare. I highly recommend some YouTube shield installation videos first and finding a dust-free environment without a whole lot of airflow. A bathroom maybe. But if you feel like you screwed something up, it's surprisingly forgiving about being peeled back up a little and cleaned up. Just don't get too careless or you'll find corners failing to adhere anymore. Mehs: - At first the surface felt too rough. But I got used to it and now I actually somewhat enjoy the degree of control it provides. It's closer to slightly rougher drawing or sketch paper than, say, something like vellum (or a Wacom surface, speaking in digital tablet terms). I can see some people taking issue with this but it's not a dealbreaker for me. Just not entirely ideal. I'm hoping the legit Paperlike is on the smoother side. - It's a matte screen film. Kiss that high-gloss display goodbye but also understand that it will very slightly wash out the image you see. The iPad still looks very good with it, it's just not quite as vibrant, of course. I'm not calling this a con as that's just the nature of the product and I anticipated this (also I use nothing but matte displays on my PC anyway). But for some this is a problem. I have not seen too terrible of a rainbow effect as some people mentioned. At worst there's a slight hint of it at extreme angles I wouldn't be using the tablet at anyway. Cons: - One downside of that rough surface is this will absolutely wear down the plastic tip of your Apple Pencil after a while. That part can be replaced but if this were a bit smoother it likely wouldn't be an issue. - In my initial testing here it feels like this very very slightly reduces touch sensitivity, as most thicker screen protectors/films do. Now, I don't have any empirical data to back that up so take that and really any review you read with a grain of salt. I just don't think some of these gestures are being recognized quite as consistently as they were before. That said, I'm talking about a difference between perfect and as close to perfect as it gets. It's still plenty sensitive enough. Just something to keep in mind if you're pickier about that. - These larger devices benefit greatly from installation guides - those plastic frames used to apply screen protectors. I realize you can't just throw that into the production pipeline of this product but it is a negative that it doesn't have one. Overall I'll say it's actually a pretty decent product for the price (and availability). Definitely not perfect and you'll have to be ready to accept some minor setbacks. But it's certainly good enough for me until I can get my hands on something potentially better. ... show more

  • Save your money and get these!
I wanted something that would make writing on the ipad feel less terrible. I could not stand writing on it and this solved all my problems. It was kind of difficult to put on but that's just me. It is amazing for the price and I cant see the point of buying anything more expensive than this one.
