The kids needed a stand for their iPads that would hold them flat (not tilted back like the stand attached to the case.) Now they can make their stop motion animation videos easily! We also used it for a virtual class today as well and it was great. The stand freed up table space, held the iPad at eye level and made it easy for both kids to participate in the class on the same device. Easy to assemble and use. Feels sturdy at the levels we have used (two of four extensions utilized.) I really don't know why you would need to have it any higher than that, but the option is there. I like the multiple locking clasps for different heights, I think this is a big part of the sturdiness. If something goes wrong with your item, contact the seller first. Even if it’s after the return date. They reached out to me and replaced with no cost to me. A+ customer service! I bought it November and handy had a chance to use it until now. The adjustment knob broke off the very first time we tried to turn it. No actual force was used so the thing is just too delicate. Pretty stable. Takes a good size bump to knock down. Ie: pretty safe for iPad. iPad Pro (13”) with cover folded back fits (but just) into holder. Phone holder can only be used with small phones. Tubing is pretty strong, but uses special molding. Harder to use add-on parts. Works for me. Would buy again if I couldn’t find better newer one in the future. ... show more

I’ve had several stands and this one was the sturdiest so far! I really do love having my iPad and my iPhone recording at the same time for different platforms as it helps with editing ans keeping the messaging exactly aligned and it’s an easy set up!

    • Stable and usable, but knob broke when adjusting iPad position.

The iPad mount sits in a ball joint which is tightened with a plastic knob which sits over and tightens a metal nut. After a handful of uses, I tightened - not overtightened - the knob and it broke off the nut. Thankfully, when the knob broke off the nut it was *after* tightening the ball joint, so the iPad was held in place. If I can replace the nut with a wingnut, this will solve the problem. But it would never have happened in the first place if the knob had been beefy enough to survive normal use. The stand itself is a usable compromise between sturdiness and portability/light weight. The spring holding the iPad's corners is strong enough to hold very securely, but it may be a bit too strong for weak users. It's good enough that when the knob broke I felt very disappointed. If the tightening knob was adequate, I would give the stand four stars for economy and usability. ... show more

The ipad clamp does not fit a 12.9 in iPad pro. The box confirms I was sent the "right" part. Returned. The other similarly-priced stand of similar design on amazon broke after about 6 months. first the plastic head that secures the iPad angle broke off exposing the bolt. Then the iPad holder broke off the stand and although there seems to be no broken plastic parts, there is no way to reattach without gluing and hoping for the best. Stands in the $35 range do not hold up to even light (~20 performances a year) gigging. ... show more
