  • Nice quality
Style: Bilateral-Aluminum
These installed very easy! Very nice quality as well. They adjust very easily. The only compliant I have is that the screws were a little too long and hit my roof, HOWEVER I do believe that's partly from my roof rack bars being to low!

  • Amazing for the price
Style: Bilateral-Aluminum
I had originally bought another set of kayak racks from another company that turned out to be awful. Last minute, I bought these to bring my kayaks on a 3 hour trip. These are perfect. I set them up, on my own on top of my jeep. Quick and easy setup. Really happy they just flip down when not in use and are just two pieces instead of four separate parts. They have lasted and had no issues over the past month. ... show more

  • Good With Some Caveats
Style: Bilateral-Aluminum
The rack itself is good. Seems worth the money. However, as some have stated, the bolts that come with it are unnecessarily long and can hit the roof of your car. Also the Cam Buckle Straps that come with it are pretty short if you're tying down a wider kayak. They wouldn't work with my 34" wide kayak. It also doesn't come with any straps to tie down the front and rear of the kayak. So, here's what I needed to make this rack work with my kayaks. 8 - M8x1.25 Carriage Bolts 50mm long (The length of the supplied bolts are 65mm. 50mm is the lowest I could go with factory aero bars (Toyota/Lexus). 2 - 10" Cam Buckle Straps (To strap a 34" kayak to the rack) 2 - 18" Cam Buckle Straps (To secure the front and back of the kayaks to the vehicle) Other than that, I've transported two 11 foot long x 34 inch wide Kayaks each weighing 65lbs on this rack. ... show more

  • Great kayak rack
Style: Bilateral-Aluminum
The rack was easy to assemble. Unlike typical J racks, appreciate that the center support folds down so we don’t have to take the rack off to put the car in the garage.

  • Held up on long drive.
Style: Unilateral-Iron
They were a little undersized for the old town fishing kayaks they held but they held up on a long drive from Florida to Acadia national park Maine and back.

  • Good value rack but a split rack would be better
This rack was chosen because of cost and it can hold your paddles. The foam pads protect the kayak from rubbing and hold them steady. The straps it comes with do a decent job securing the kayaks. Easy assembly and install. Cons: There is no rhyme or reason (i.e. instructions) on how to tie down the kayaks to the racks using the straps so use your best judgement. The top of the racks have a slot for the straps but unless you wrap the straps around it, they're virtually useless. And when you wrap the straps, it makes cinching the straps down impossible so make sure you estimate the right amount of slack you need to tightly secure the kayaks. I would have picked a double rack instead of a single for two kayaks if one had been available. Having one rack for two kayaks can be slightly dangerous... you load one kayak, fine. You load two, make sure its secured because it will cause the other to fall off the top of your vehicle. ... show more

  • Poorly engineered
My husband purchased this for me, I purchased a other brand which I set up 1st very heavy duty and extremely stable. I open this one first glance it was very light weight. As I take everything out to set up their was not alot to set up, the aluminum attach just seat inside not secure. We had a huge problem since my husband and son Kayak are quite heavy. I won't feel secure putting them on it not only that when their no Kayak on it you would have to remove the attachment since it not secure on it own. ... show more
