For price and features, I don’t think this camera can be beat. You can make it all local or join their service for added AI assisted bells and whistles. I love it. The door gets a lot of traffic so even though it’s processing a lot of alerts, battery life is measured in weeks… which is awesome, because I don’t have wired power to the porch except for the porch light. Video quality and night vision are great. It faces east so it gets direct sunlight which some video doorbells struggle with. This still works great and aetup couldn’t be easier. I have only one complaint. It doesn’t really work with Google Home. It shows up there but you can’t do anything with it. I bought it specifically for this feature… but I liked the other functions so much I kept it anyway and just use their app… which is very usable. ... show more

Love this doorbell cam. They do have the option to pay for different features ($12.99/month) like setting it for when ur away or at home. I do not pay for the subscription, have enough of them already. It’s works great for seeing who is at the door, it’s got like a 2-3 second buffer to load live stream which is not bad at all in my opinion. It has yet to miss a notification of a person at the door. I have not attempted to adjust any sensitivity settings on it for notifications and the camera notifies of like cars passing on the main road perpendicular to our home. I don’t mind the notifications enough to mess with it. It works perfectly for what we wanted and not having to pay for subscription is awesome. When it captures someone at the front door it records a few moments of them being there and notifies you almost instantly. I think if you want like storage of any footage longer than a day or so you can pay for the subscription but we seem to be in a decent area with little to no nonsense so there’s not present need for like cloud storage or something. We will be planning to get a regular one of these for the front of the house, the one that is like rectangular with the light on top. I recently installed the Wyze Video Doorbell v2, and I’m extremely satisfied with its performance. Here are my thoughts: Installation and Setup: The installation process was straightforward. I wired it up using the existing doorbell wires, and the included angle bracket allowed me to position it perfectly. No fuss, no hassle. Image Quality: The 2K video quality is impressive. I can clearly see everything I need, including packages left near the door. The wide-angle view ensures I never miss a thing. Night Vision: Wyze has nailed color night vision. It’s almost magical how well it works. Even in low light, the clarity is outstanding. No Subscription Fee: Unlike some other brands, Wyze doesn’t require a monthly subscription for continuous recording. Just pop in your own micro SD card, and you’re good to go. Voice Quality and Latency: The two-way audio works well, although it records only the person at the door, not my responses through the app. That’s a minor gripe. Smart Features: Wyze offers plenty of free nerdy options, and you can unlock more with a subscription. Nothing essential is behind a paywall. Chime Delay: The only drawback is the slight delay when ringing the doorbell. It’s connected wirelessly to the adapter, which then triggers the chime. Not a deal-breaker, but worth considering. Overall, I’d give the Wyze Video Doorbell v2 an A. It’s a fantastic product with a few minor quirks. I had a package stolen off my porch and decided to get a video doorbell as a deterrent. I've been happy with my other Wyze camera for years, so I thought I'd give their video doorbell a try. Since my front door doesn't have a spot for wiring, I needed a battery-powered option. Installation was simple with the sticky tape. This model doesn't support an SD card, so I paid $20 for the Pro account to get AI features and additional storage. It's much cheaper than other camera plans out there. There's also a free tier with notifications, but it's limited. Initially, I had some issues where I had to keep resetting my router because the doorbell wouldn't connect. After a week or two, that problem seemed to go away. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it. The video quality is good, and I get instant notifications on my phone whenever someone walks on my porch or delivers a package. There are plenty of options to personalize your notification and recording settings. The only thing I don't like is the inflated claims about battery life. The description says "up to six months," but I got about a week out of it at first. To be fair, I live on a busy street with lots of foot and car traffic. I emailed customer support and asked about settings to improve battery life, like changing which events trigger notifications, making the detection zone smaller, and setting detection sensitivity to low. After making those changes, I now get about 2-3 weeks between charges. It takes around 4-5 hours to fully charge the battery. While 2-3 weeks isn't awful, it's nowhere near six months. Again, if you live on a less busy street, you'd probably get better battery life. Most people in reviews claim 3 weeks to a month, so it's still absurd to claim six months. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the video doorbell. Just make sure to set your battery expectations to around a month. ... show more
