In camping one daily task is preparing food. This Rocket Stove comes with a pan and utensils, and will meet the need for camp cooking, but also preparations for emergency situations. In an emergency you cannot rely on gas or fuel stoves, because eventually, the supply will run out, or be prohibitively expensive. This stove uses small diameter fuels, like sticks, twigs, pinecones, charcoal, biomass, and doesn’t need tools like saws or axes to process. By design, this cuts down on the amount of wood needed to a tenth of cooking over an open fire. This stove using less fuel is also better at combusting that fuel, producing less smoke, carbon monoxide, and soot. Heavy steel construction and black finish stands up to the heat generated. Handles make it easy to transport but, do NOT attempt to move it, once a fire is started. The steel retains the heat and it takes a while to cool down. Clean the silicon utensil’s before use and get yourself a small cast iron skillet to supplement the steel pan. ... show more

  • Compact stove
This is a little camp cookstove. It comes with two feet, but you have to attach them. It's the cutest thing ever! It is portable, lightweight, and easy to use for car camping or when using a camper. It would be a fun thing to use in the backyard to augment your grill space. It is solidly made. You can use any small fuel, such as twigs, charcoal, sticks. It is efficient in burning and heating the area upon which you place the cooking pan. I wouldn't try to backpack with it, as it does not collapse or fold flat. It also has to cool after use before you can touch it. After use, there will be smoke and char that remains on the stove, so you won't want to put it in a backpack or carry it far. It comes with an approximately 8" nonstick skillet and two utensils. They are fine for outdoor use on the stove, but not super great quality. ... show more

  • Heavy rocket stove
Ha, I gave it 4 stars until I googled similar products.taxes alone are more then what other products cost . And the weight, not sure which camp site your carrying it to. But no back packing hiking for this 13lb not folded up flat rocket stove. With all my other gear( I literally just went hiking ) my backpack weighed an easy40 lbs cooking gear in grandsons backpack, no way he would have fit that in there. This is for home or site camping. Don’t get me wrong, easy to start a fire and cooked almost a whole meal before reloading sticks and twigs , as my grandson went to easily , ha , move it and had no potholder on . Every inch of flute, handle was extremely hot. So it is not easily movable . With holes on bottom you must really check before setting up. A chimney fire starter would work just the same for an emergency meal, but this looks nicer, not worth the $$. ... show more

  • Burns easily and hot.
This came well packaged, so it wasn't just loose and jumping around in the box getting dinged up. It's easy to assemble, just stand it up, slide the legs in, and put the bolts through the holes for the legs. I do wish the legs had holes for the bolts. Mine came with holes in the body, but not legs themselves. This leave the bolts to only apply pressure to keep the legs from sliding out. Which they will do. Easy fix if you have a drill press though, to partially sink a hole into the legs but not fully through. The metal is durable, thick gauge steel. It will hold heat after your fire goes out for a while. So don't touch the small handle to move it or remove the pot holder unless you know it's cool. Both will leave a lasting impression. It was super quick to start a fire with a small bundle of straw & bark. Then just feeding it a few sticks. Withing no time flames were moving out the top and kept going with just 2 or 3 small pieces of wood ... show more

  • Wow - This rocket stove is impressive! Great quality and design
I have had a few small stoves, but I have to say, this really blew me away. It is VERY well made. It's all heavy duty and I think it is safe to say, this is made to last. I suspect it will probably outlast me. This is also very functional, and not only can you get a good fire going, it is easy to transport and set up. They include a cooking pan, which is a nice bonus. But the whole setup is easily worth the price (if not more) without even factoring that bonus in. If you want an excellent rocket stove that is made to last, this is it. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • One of the best rocket stove kits!
The stove works well although an easier way to remove ashes would be good. I like all the accessories that came with it...makes it a better value than others that are skimpy. Material and build are solid. Don't recommend you keep it wet...dry it off and stow it away so it doesn't rust.

  • Works Great
I got this for when we camp out at our craft fairs. It works great, makes cooking a breeze. Quick to light, and get to full fire. Definitely recommend.
