Description

Remember when your workshop was full of clean air? Air-borne dust particulates can dirty up a woodworking space and harm a healthy respiratory system, but with the WEN 3-Speed Remote-Controlled Air Filtration System, you no longer need to worry. This system eradicates these contaminants by catching them in one of the two easily replaced filters while circulating the air in your work area. The powerful 3-amp motor leaves no stone unturned, collecting every contaminant in its path. The quiet system creates 63 to 68 dB of noise and is controllable up to 26 feet away with the included R.F. remote. The included chains and eyebolts make for easy mounting and installation in a variety of wood shops. The WEN Air Filtration System collects and releases the air in your workshop after filtering it through both a 5-micron outer filter and a 1-micron inner filter. Easily switch between three speeds of 556, 702 and 1044 CFM depending on what your situation calls for. With the self-automated timer, you don’t even have to worry about turning off your machine. Simply set the timer to automatically turn the machine off after a certain number of minutes, allowing you to easily give your workshop a thorough cleanse at the end of the day. And because this is a WEN Product, your 3-Speed Remote-Controlled Air Filtration System comes backed by a two-year warranty, a helpful customer service support line, and a stocked inventory of replacement parts. Remember when you could breathe easy in your workshop? Remember WEN.

  • Excellent Price Point and DOES THE JOB!
Style: Basic w/ RF Remote (400 CFM) Pattern Name: Air Filtration System
I purchased two of the 400CFM units. My shop is oriented lengthwise East and West. I placed one on the West end of my shop blowing South and one on the East end of the shop blowing North dividing the shop into thirds. My shop is 28 X36 feet so theoretically these exchange all the air in the shop approximately every 13 minutes (if my math is correct). I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently this elliptical air pattern removed dust from my shop (so who cares if my math is correct). I've been building a sail boat in my shop for two plus year now and I can say without reservation that these little units do the job. I was stunned the first time I walked into the shop after the units had been on 2 hours. The air was fresh, odor and dust free. My finishing jobs are amazingly improved as there is little or no dust floating around in the air. I actually leave them on while I'm painting (I am not spraying; if I were, leaving them on would be very bad for the filters). If you're debating getting the single larger unit, frankly, I would stop debating and get the two smaller units for their ability to circulate the air. In my location the on/off switch, timers, etc. have worked flawlessly without any mystical turning on or off. If you really want to eliminate the possibility of this happening, buy the more expensive IR controlled units which should not be subject to radio frequency interference. I purchased the less expensive RF controllers and I, especially my lungs, am as happy as one man can get with this purchase. By the way you get two controllers and in my shop one controller operates both units identically and simultaneously, so, you get an extra controller. The units are a snap to install if you have power anywhere nearby on your ceiling. If you are tall and have an 8 foot ceilings you should find a way to mount the units as near the ceiling as possible. My shop has open rafters. I am 5' 8" tall. Hanging below the rafters, my units hang a little lower than the recommended 7 feet from the floor so not a problem for me. If I were taller I would place 2X4s across the rafters and hang them, in my case, 5.5 inches higher eliminating headaches for everyone except maybe basketball players. They are far quieter than my window AC unit at any power setting. They are noticeably quieter at each lower power setting. I cannot speak to their longevity but I can say the filters are loading up quickly so I'm guessing that at least the 5 micron filter will need to be cleaned every month and I'm guessing replaced every 4 to 6 months. ... show more

  • 5 Stars – Excellent Quality and Noticeable Improvement in Air Quality!
Style: Basic w/ RF Remote (400 CFM) Pattern Name: Air Filtration System
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the WEN 3410 Air Filtration System. The build feels solid and well-designed, far exceeding my expectations at this price point. The installation process was quick and easy—within an hour, I had it mounted in my workshop and up and running. The difference in air quality has been remarkable. Dust levels have noticeably decreased, making my shop a much cleaner and safer space to work in. I especially appreciate the 3-speed settings (300/350/400 CFM) which allow for flexible control, depending on how heavy the dust is at the time. The remote control feature is a game-changer as well, letting me adjust settings or turn it off without leaving my work area. All in all, I highly recommend the WEN 3410 for anyone looking to improve their workshop air quality. For the price, you can’t beat its performance and ease of use. ... show more

  • It works quite well
Style: Basic w/ RF Remote (400 CFM) Pattern Name: Air Filtration System
I build furniture in my spare time in my garage (12x25ft) which is also connected to the house utility room. For years I've wanted a decent dust collector for use in particular when I could not keep the garage door open while working. I purchased the WEN 3410 due to its solid reviews and price point. After a year of use I can say that it has made a notable difference in the level of dust in the air when using a table saw or sander. Mounted at approximately 7ft in height it does a very nice job of dust collection to the point where it can be clearly seen working. I was quite shocked at how much dust the filter collects and knowing that for many years I did not have anything in place. It is not dead quiet, but not on the loud side either. With a saw running or a radio playing it cannot be heard when it is running even at highest speed. The unit has a timer, which is helpful though I rarely use it, and a remote control which I almost never need to use as I can just reach up and turn on the unit from the control panel. The collector came with all of the mounting hardware, which I used to install the unit (by myself, though a helper would have made it a bit easier), and the filters were already pre-installed. It does require a 120v receptacle, which I mounted in the ceiling specifically for the unit. So far, I can say that the biggest drawback has been the replacement filters. The unit uses 2 different filters, a 5-micron outer filter and a 1-micron inner filter, which come in packs of (2) and for both packs the cost is approximately $65; not super expensive, but not inexpensive either. It is possible to clean the filters by using compressed air to gently blow them out, but they should still be replaced periodically, and if the unit is heavily used I would definitely recommend replacement filters rather than attempting to clean them. All in all I would recommend this unit for a small shop especially if there is no space for a dedicated dust collection system. It has made a real difference in the air quality in my garage when using woodworking machinery. ... show more
