  • Loving it!
Style: Grill
We used charcoal for years then decided to go to gas for it's convenience. 6 years and 2 gas grills later we'd had enough. What is it with gas grills now? Both started to rot out within 2 years of purchase. Our first one was rather cheap so I guess I can understand. Our second was not and it still needs a total rebuild (burners and flavor tents) after 2 years of use. We're in upstate NY so our grilling season is somewhat short, maybe 5 months. Anyhow; Boy what a difference! This grill is VERY well built. I took my time during assembly, inventory & organized parts, drank coffee, whatever. The box is quite heavy. I flipped & slid it into the house, then unpacked the parts inside & carried the pieces for each step of assembly out the back door to the patio. The directions are pictographs with little "alert" notations where they thought they were needed. I'd be sure to pay attention to these little alerts as a couple of them are needed. I think anyone who's assembled anything could manage this with little frustration. Just take your time and study each step before executing it. After reading a lot of reviews we opted for the "one touch ignition" with the little camp stove propane bottle (not included) feature. Boy are we glad! We didn't want to have to mess with starter cubes or chimneys. I think it's well worth the extra $50 for the upgrade. We also love the size of the prep table and the integrated charcoal bin. A note about the charcoal bin; The entire bag of charcoal (bag included) is meant to be put into the bin. The literature says the bin will hold a 30 lb bag. That info would only be accurate if it's a 30 lb bag of briquettes, NOT lump charcoal. If you're in the market for a charcoal grill, I HIGHLY recommend the Weber! Super sturdy & well built. My husband was a toolmaker & manufacturing engineer so, if he's impressed, that's saying a lot! I won't get into the debate of gas over charcoal but I will say the flavor improvement was amazing! We didn't realize how much flavor we'd been missing. We only use natural lump charcoal or natural briquettes when we can find them. ... show more

  • Love this igniter system
Style: Grill
I finally replaced my 20 year old Weber grill with an updated Performer. My old grill was the same model, but had a 1 gallon gas lighter which was a pain to get refilled with changing regulations. Also, I had left it outside uncovered a few times and it had finally begun to get some rusted areas. The new igniter system uses a battery, which I think will hold up better than the old click/spark system. We love the new copper color and look forward to many more years with this grill. It is great for regular grilling and I've learned how to do slower cooking and smoking with hit. There are lots of online videos to guide you on how to do this and Weber is a solid name in the industry. ... show more

  • Happy Birthday to Me with a new Weber Grill!!!
Style: Grill
This is such a great grill. I wanted to get something that is easy to use and the gas fired lighting system for the charcoal has made this very fast and easy to get going. The quality of the grill and hardware is great and it has performed just as I had hoped. The table on the side is huge and wonderful for cooking out. The charcoal bin is really nice too. I have no negative things to say about it. Shipping was blindingly fast too! It does come knocked down but it took my son about 20 minutes to assemble it and was very easy. In all, I think this is the nicest grill I have ever used. The ability to cook both direct and indirect along with the grilling accessories available make it super versatile too. I am going to buy the wok and the pizza stone for it. It's really easy to control the temperature as well. And, last, the timer is great! It keeps track of the cooking time for you so I don't have to keep looking at my watch. I love this grill!!!! ... show more

  • Quality materials and design that lasts.
Style: Grill
I‘ve been a Weber charcoal grilled for life. No gas for this carnivore! I had the Performer for 17 years and it worked beautifully in the same spot as the new one pictured, but all soldiers must retire at some point. I did’t hesitate and immediately ordered the replacement once I decided it was time. It’s perfect for me and turns out great BBQ’s including the annual Turkey dinner. The only way to go! ... show more
