I've been a backyard smoker/griller for over 50 years so I think I know what I'm talking about. I will tell you this thing works so well I got rid of my Webber kettle and gass grills. It's the answer to easy, convenient, delicious authentic bbq. The first item I tried was chicken thighs which were superb. Since then everything else has been wonderful. Perfectly smoked, cooked to perfection and in record time. No more charcoal, messy ashes, charcoal starter, grill scrubbing, wood chips/chunks, over/under cooking and guess work. At last, an exceptionally well-engineered grill has arrived. I acquired it two days ago and have used it both yesterday and today. On the first day, I prepared baby back ribs, while a Sirloin Roast was on the menu today. As someone who's turning 61 in just a few days, I can confidently say this is the finest grill I've ever operated. It preheats within a mere 5 minutes and starts to produce a substantial amount of smoke, reminiscent of a locomotive in full swing. The scent of the smoke alone is tantalizing even before you add any meat to the grill. I purchased the model equipped with a temperature probe, and I've found its features impressive. The strategic placement of the fan and the pellet smoke dispenser enables it to cook rapidly, requiring only one cup of pellets per use. The clean-up process is straightforward, making daily smoking tasks practically effortless. All you have to do is drop in the pellets, set the preheat temperature, and then determine your desired cooking temperature for the food. From there, it essentially runs on autopilot. I have had so much fun using this smoker. It performs just like the TV advertisement. Prior to having this smoker, I used a big bulky pellet smoker. I live in a very cold region. The pellet smoker does not come to the temp setting when it is around zero degrees Fahrenheit. The Ninja Woodfire works just fine in cold temperatures. What I love about this unit is It does so many more functions than a traditional pellet smoker. You get the same smoke flavor using a half cup pellets versus 3 pounds in a pellet smoker. It cooks much faster and is so much easier to cleanup after use. To me they both have their own place in my smoke house. The Ninja Woodfire can be used daily for just the two of us at home. The pellet stove can be used on a weekend when having more people over when the weather is warmer. This is an excellent product, I just wish I had bought the XL unit. ... show more

    • Great alternative to full grilling/smoking

I got this as I love to grill meat, though I do not necessarily have the time to prep, clean, and maintain a smoker/grill to be used almost daily. This makes the prospect of grilling very simple, and you can definitely taste the added flavor if you use the smoke. My main method of cooking my steaks has been to use the "Smoke" setting with the built in thermometer to get my steaks to 135F, and then use the "Grill" setting to sear. This is known as a "reverse sear". I also couple this with a Sous Vide cooker. The grill heats up quickly and without utilizing a ton of resources, so it's very easy to pull the meat out of the Sous Vide and throw it on without feeling guilty about lighting up a whole grill just for a sear. This doesn't replace the real taste of a charcoal grill, or the effect of a long low smoke, but it is a much more convenient option for when you want to incorporate those aspects into your food. ... show more

Ninja makes great products, and the Ninja Woodfire Pro Outdoor Grill is no exception. This little grill is electric, easy to clean up, and small enough to move around. It’s a Smoker, Air-fryer, Grill, Dehydrator, Broiler, and more. The pro model includes a cooking probe which is pretty accurate for checking food temps. There is also a “Cold Smoke” setting if you like to smoke cheeses. Pros: Easy to use, cooks fast, accurate built in thermometer on the Pro model, time and temperature controls, convenient All-In-One appliance, and has the great quality control Ninja is known for. The Air-fryer setting on this grill is amazing, very fast and cooks evenly. The Fryer Basket is large enough to keep the chicken wings flowing from this little powerhouse. The Dehydrator is great, works well, so no need for that extra appliance to purchase. The Smoker portion of this grill uses pellets to add that “Smokey” flavor to your foods. No need to worry about having a full propane tank or charcoal on hand. Cons: Hard to get the “Smoke Ring” on your meats that a traditional smoker gives but it does penetrate the meat with the pellet flavors. Cold smoker temperature does not go low enough but does ok for cheeses, it makes the cheese a little soft during the smoking process, but it definitely adds a great smoke flavor. This little grill is great for a gathering of up to 4 and possibly 6 people, for more than that the Ninja Woodfire Pro XL would be a better choice. I also recommend picking up a Cover for the grill if you are leaving it outside. The cover does a great job protecting it from the elements. I did not rank as a 5 Star because of the minor cons listed above, other than that this is a solid buy for your home grilling needs. ... show more
