People complain about nibs wearing down which is understandable. But this is just the best feeling texture. Nib wear isn’t horrible but yes, you will be replacing your nibs more often if you use this texture. For me, it’s worth it. Product feels significantly better to use and if you’re already paying a premium for Wacom, why compromise on what feels the most satisfying? People that recommend smooth, do so because it might save you like $10 in the first couple months. Truth is, the nibs are still going to wear down. Just choose whichever feels best to you. It's really easy to stick to your tablet. if you misplaced it, you can easily take it off with the triangle sticker they gave together with the texture sheet.

    • Rough = a way for Wacom to make nib money

Background: I use my Intuos Pro at least 45 hours a week. Previously I used a single smooth screen protector for 6 or 7 years with my PTH-851 with no problems. I changed a nib maybe once a year. Life was simple. It got worn, so I decided to replace it. Pros — The plastic is thick and feels pretty substantial. I had to trim it slightly to fit my older-model Intuos, but luckily the adhesive seems as great as it's always been. Cons — To say I'm disappointed in the rough texture is an understatement. I've needed a new nib every WEEK for the past two months I've been using this. The satin texture doesn't feel good to draw on — it slows down my pen and it's made digital art annoying rather than fun. It catches every bit of oil from your skin and feels gross. Two months of use and it already has wear patterns in it, which is crazy for a $40 sheet of plastic that burns through nibs like an art undergrad through cigarettes. I figured I'd get used to it after a few months, but I just really dislike it. Paperlike's iPad screen protector is light years better in terms of feel, and I guess I was hoping for more of that when I bought this. Call me cynical, but it seems like it was designed specifically to get people to spend more on their overpriced nibs. Wacom's CEO needs to do a lot more for me to justify buying him the equivalent of a $5 coffee every month for the rest of my working life. ... show more

Wacom decided the reasonable smooth-ish regular sheet didn't wear out nibs fast enough. I go through 1 nib every ONE TO TWO DAYS. it used to be one every 1-2 MONTHS. Worst part is this is the only texture sheet you can buy now. I greatly regret this purchase.
