While marketed mainly as a phone holder, which I think would do a good job with too, I needed something that’ll hold a radar detector in a more inconspicuous way and not be an eye sore. I’ve had a suction cup type before that worked okay but it had a clamp and my device would essentially “float” and could fly off if I braked too hard. But since this is magnetic, it held it in place. There are two magnetic rings that are included. The magnetic rings are really the key. It’s thin but wide circumference. I think because of that, it feels more stable while not difficult to pull off when needed (like if I’m ever stopped by an CHP - hey don’t judge! I’ve gotten tickets before going the speed limit, with dash am proof!). The height is adjustable too. So if I’m in an area that’s more laser gun enforced, I can raise it up a little. But really, by then you’re done for regardless. This holder did the trick. It’s a lot less bulky due to the magnetic mount. And the 3M adhesive is industrial grade, but apparently removable if you ever need. It’s so much less an eye sore with it being attached to a dash area than on the window. After researching a ton of phone mount offerings on Amazon, I decided that the Vicseed phone mount was the one for my Tesla. The mount is solid and provides the features I want. The magnet mount is super strong. I have no concerns whether it will hold my Samsung Note 20 Ultra. The phone is stable and doesn't wobble or rock while driving. The ball mount readily allows me to position the phone to the right viewing angle and keeps it there while driving. The slide bracket and angle joint work as expected in positioning the magnet base for landscape or portrait viewing. The mount nicely slides and folds out of the way to hide the mount. Installation was simple. However, I would have preferred a more sturdy mounting template made of plastic rather than cardboard. I think a plastic template would have made a more positive feeling installation of the adhesion disk and bracket onto the back frame of the Tesla screen. Attaching the metal ring on the back of my Spigen case for the Note 20 was made simple with the positioning template that is thoughtfully included in the kit. The ring is nice and thin and sticks firmly to the case with 3M adhesive. I contacted Customer Service for additional metal rings so that my wife and daughter could use their phones with the phone mount. CS responded quickly and professionally. I rate CS as excellent. ***Update: Until recently, I didn't use the Tesla wireless charging pad for my phone. Unfortunately, with the ring mount installed on my phone case, the phone will not charge. The ring interferes with wireless charging. Without the ring, it will charge correctly. The only alternative (which is an inconvenience) is to take the case off to charge. After contacting customer support, we found that a case with a built-in mag ring solved the problem. Adam from customer support was extremely helpful in making sure the problem was solved. I only wished that other companies would be half as responsive as Vicseed. Great product with beyond expectation customer support and customer satisfaction. ***Update2: If I could give10 stars for customer service, then Vicseed CS would would get it WITHOUT reservation. Janice from CS is excellent and provided me assistance way beyond expectations. She reflects the company's extremely positive customer based attitude. ... show more

    • Works great with the larger iPhone 14 Pro Max with a caveat

If you have a larger phone and/or phone case, mock up the installation location before you prep and mount this item. Out of curiosity I tried using the included mounting template and it would have placed my iPhone 14 Pro Max in an Otterbox case well into my line of sight; about half of my phone's screen was above the dash/hood line which created a sizable blind spot. No matter, though, because I played around with where I wanted my phone and compromised a little. The steering wheel blocks a small portion of my phone screen's bottom left corner. That's not a big deal to me, though. The mount is fairly steady and doesn't transmit any vibrations large enough to shake off the phone and make it fly in the interior. ... show more

First Impression: The packaging of this product is impressive, and it includes everything needed for a proper installation, whether you have a phone case or not. A tool card and a helpful video demonstrating the safe removal of the mount are thoughtful touches. What's Good about this Product: There are several commendable aspects to this product. The mount's color perfectly matches the center display finish, creating a sleek and cohesive look. The magnetic ring is notably strong, securely holding my iPhone 13 Pro Max in place. And the mount's small footprint makes it easy to conceal behind the center screen, which is aesthetically pleasing. What is Missing: While this product has many positive features, one limitation worth mentioning; although you can rotate the phone on the magnetic ring, the arm of the mount cannot be swung to the side or top of the center display, limiting the positioning options for the phone. Overall, I am satisfied with the product's performance, and the positives outweigh the minor limitation.
