Pros - Excellent value, easy to install, does the job exactly as promised. Cons - none yet, will assess longevity in a few months. I finally gave up on tension rods and wanted something more than curtains for the brutal SoCal sun through my southwest facing master windows. This item fit the bill perfectly; reversible, so no permanent commitment; just clings, so no damage; best part, no rods/screws/tapes/accessories! My $0.02 is, ignore the enclosed cutting instructions abt cutting an inch bigger then using utility knife to trim excess after installing. If one's not a moron and has a reasonably steady hand, you can easily cut out the EXACT size needed. I followed cutting instructions to the letter for the 1st window, got smart, ignored instructions and did the next one my way. The results speak for themselves (see pix), but more importantly, my way took a grand total of 20 seconds vs. the 5-10 mnts spent on the recommended way. The rest of all advice incl. soapy water spray, thoroughly cleaning window, credit card squeegy'ing work perfectly. UPDATE Nov 4, 2019: Updating re: CONS as promised. I purchased 6 rolls for a paid job. I had to cut around the edges to leave room for led light bars. Product was super easy to install and work with. Best instal advice I can give is to use a spray bottle with water and just a few drops of blue dawn dish soap. I shook it up and sprayed both the window and the cling itself. Soaked but not dripping. Immediately place on to window and slide in to place. Use a flat credit card (one without numbers so like an insurance card or key card for a hotel) and do small 6-8” sections at a time pulling the card upwards toward edges and use a microfiber rag to wipe of water droplets as you go. Once I found my rhythm I had these installed quickly. You must have a helper! This takes 2 people to install properly. Unless it’s a smaller window. As you can see from my pics it is a full display window. I have already purchased another 12 rolls to do another business because of the results of this job. 100% blackout with this product. ... show more

This film absolutely blacks out all light. I installed it on a south facing window and a west facing window and the bedroom is now completely dark during the day. It is also a great insulator. I was able to install it on the windows by myself, I just needed a second person to help me peel off the protective backing. A couple of tips: use a sharp pointed knife tip (such as an Xacto knife) to separate the films at a corner; be sure to use some sort of liquid on the window to help with adjusting the film, I used a spray degreaser similar to 409 (most of the liquid will squeegee out when the film is smoothed, so be sure to have a rag handy); and use a flat plastic card to smooth the film such as a hotel room key or employee badge. Buying more to cover windows in a storage closet (who puts windows in a closet?!). ... show more

The product is easy to apply and does a somewhat decent job. My bedroom window faces directly east and gets the full blast of sunrise however and this product simply can't deal with it. It does do a pretty good job in the afternoon into evenings. I'm not sure if it's not thick enough or an issue with my install (followed directions)... but the stress test that is my window in the morning produces an orange glow straight through the material. This product definitely blocks out light. But do not put it on any window that gets direct sunlight for any significant length of time. One of my bedroom windows absorbed so much heat that it spontaneously cracked one day. It was not even very warm out either (78F). There is no impact from being hit. Our window guy told us that films like this do that when exposed to a lot of heat or long periods of direct sunlight. He said that the crack pattern is definitely a heat stress fracture to the glass. So the price was right for the film. The $400 to replace the window is upsetting to say the least. I work nights at the hospital and really hoped this would be my ticket to a good days sleep. Save your money and buy blackout curtains like I should have from the start. ... show more

I work night shift and sometimes with blackout curtains, a little bit of daylight slips through. I have used window tinting before, but light still came through although much dimmer. When properly installed though, this privacy tint lets no light in at all. I myself am a novice at installation but this was pretty easy to use and the only issue I had was when my blade didn't cut the vinyl properly and I had a rip or two. Love this! Living in AZ...my garage gets so hot. I figured why not try this. It was super easy to apply I applied it to all of my garage windows and I hardly feel very much heat there is still heat in there but literally probably 90% of the heat here in Arizona at 120 degrees is gone
