  • Amazing
Size: 29.5In.By 78.7In.
My husband works nights and sleeps during the day. This stuff is amazing! It was easy to apply, has stuck well so far, and really blacks the room out. You can achieve 100% black out if you carefully cut it the fit perfectly.

  • Blacks out windows amazing
Size: 17.7In.By 78.7In.
Product blacks out the window totally. I have a small window above French doors and this does not allow any light to shine through. Setup is super easy and allows for multiple tries since it’s a static cling to the window.

  • Blocks light well
Size: 17.7In.By 78.7In.
I'm using this product to block some unwanted light in some windows in my bedroom my curtains don't reach. The product is very opaque and seems to block sunlight well, though, because I have North facing windows (I live in NY), I don't get any direct sunlight. Installation can be a bit tricky like other static cling films. The product itself isn't super sticky on the smooth side so it is easy to handle before it is up. That said, after it is up, it doesn't cling quite as hard as others so you have to spend more time extracting excess water before it really stays. Having a plastic putty knife or something like that is useful during this step. The hardest part was cutting the film (which is the hardest part in any film install). It was a little harder with this product because the film is thick. A couple times I had to go over it multiple times with a utility knife. Using a sharp xacto might have been better. Also, because it is thicker, it is harder to get into the corner of windows. I used the edge of a putty knife to act as a straight edge for my utility knife to cut. Still ended up with some places that didn't come clean off. Aesthetically, the film is pretty unobtrusive. There is texture to it so it definitely reads as a matte black from distance. Blends well. TLDR; Good product that blocks light and looks pretty nice. Not super easy to install but mostly related to user skill ... show more

  • Works great; I used black electric tape to secure it
Size: 23.6In.By 78.7In.
Life-changing! I’m a vampire who works from home all night and sleeps during the day. I mostly dwell in the basement which serves as my study, tv room and bedroom. There are three small windows in the basement and I used this on all of them. The directions say to cut one inch larger than you need so you can wedge the film into the edges of the frame with a plastic card to secure the film better...but my windows have airtight frames so this ended up being more of a hassle when it came time to cut the excess film. Your windows may be different. I had a hard time getting a perfectly straight cut with a utility knife once the film was misted and placed. The knife also slipped a few times and scratched my window frames. User error. Maybe I should have used a straightedge of some kind. For me it was easier to just cut the film to the exact dimensions I needed and then place it. Also, a tip that may help you: I decided to tape the edges with black electric tape since I’m putting blinds over the windows anyway. It bonds securely to the film + frame and eliminates any leaking light along the edges due to imperfect cuts but also should help keep the film in place. Time will tell. It’s now pitch black in my basement and my body has no idea what time of day it is...which is great because the sun is my kryptonite and it renders me useless. In theory it should also be cooler in the summer now since the film is deflecting the sunlight. also no more glare on my TV. I should have done this ages ago. TLDR; great value for money. Give it a try. *Update: So the electric tape didn't hold as well as I had hoped. I reinforced it with black Gorilla Tape. I'll probably be cursing myself when/if it comes time to remove it...but it should do the trick for now. ... show more

  • Wonderful product
Size: 17.7In.By 78.7In.
I needed this product to darken up a babies bedroom for nap time. It was very easy to use and worked perfectly. I never had a problem peeling off the backing like some reviews have mentioned . I highly recommend this product.

  • Sucks!
Size: 17.7In.By 118In.
It wasn't easy to use. It didn't stick very well at all to the windows. It's darker in the room where I hung it up but looks tacky in my opinion. If you don't mind the look, get it. Performance sucks!

  • Follow the instructions
Size: 35.4In.By 157.4In.
This can be tricky to install but if you follow the instructions and are patient it works great and looks great. Be sure to have an xacto knife and newer paint scraper for smoothing out bubbles. Also comes off easily if you need to move. Provides total blackout.

  • Effective Blackout Solution with a Few Hitches
Size: 23.6In.By 118In.
I have mixed emotions with this VELIMAX Static Cling Total Blackout Window Film. It works as advertised, almost complete blackout. I measure and went edge to edge almost perfectly. Was able to peel off and reposition with the little bit of overlap on one side of the window. I checked on it a few days after installation, I’m not sure if it shrinks or it moved. Now there is a tiny gap on 3 sides of my window. Not a deal breaker. I ran out and had to buy a 2nd roll for the last panel of my window. Pros: -Easy installation. -Easy to remove bubbles. -Easy to reposition. -Easy to remove and try again. Con: -Removing that static protective barrier. It was a nightmare. Tried different methods and ended up taking it to work for a big work surface to remove the static barrier. In the end, cutting the corner trying to remove the barrier from there seemed to work best. The film peeled off in strips or chucks. There was only one cut piece where the whole barrier came off in one piece. Now the 2nd roll seems to make my con a lie. The static barrier came right off with ease. No cutting corners, cussing, or using a roll of double-sided tape (yes a full roll) to help. Both cut pieces were very easy. So maybe it was the length? Because the 2nd roll was shorter than the 1st roll I ordered? The VELIMAX Static Cling Total Blackout Window Film is an effective solution for light blocking, offering easy installation and reusability. While it excels in darkening rooms, the installation can be challenging due to the static protective barrier. There may be some inconsistency in product quality. Overall, it's a good buy for those seeking a temporary and adjustable blackout solution, but keep in mind the potential need for adjustments over time. ... show more
