Cats 🐈. They are not easy creatures to appease 😂. My Bennie (pictured above), is a picky boy. He was okay with the other fountain, though he took quite a few days to acclimate to it being near his food. Jump to today and he took right to his new Veken 95oz water fountain. Let’s talk about it. ASSEMBLY: Putting it together was easy and I figured it out without looking at the directions. I double checked myself using the directions to ensure I was correct, and I was. But let’s get into the pump real quick 🤨 THE PUMP🧐: Why does it drag the cord from the front to the back? The camera/sensor that tells you when the water needs replacing or is low, is in the front of the pump..along with the power cord which ideally SHOULD HAVE been placed in the BACK of the pump. Thus shortening the distance the cord goes to the cord escape hole/tube. But no, it is in the front and this is just a poor design choice 🤦🏽♀️💯. But it is very quiet and I don’t hear it when I enter my daughter’s room. It also didn’t scare away my Bennie, as his first fountain did. He went right in for a drink without hesitation. So the design flaw of the pump isn’t enough to devalue my review. THE FILTER: It is simple really. You rinse it under cold water to remove trace filter dust, give it a shake and it sit in the clear tray tab UP ⬆️ and it stays there while you close the top. They only give you 2 filters, and one is a replacement, so order more filters right now. They need to be changed ideally every week, but if you are giving your pet filtered water, they may last up to two weeks longer than they would with tap water. I like their design as they are kind of/sort of shaped like a petal, tying in the fountain theme. CAPACITY!: On point in my opinion. The old fountain held 4 cups of water, 32oz of water. But evaporation was claiming most of it and we were filling it every 3 days. At 95oz we won’t have to fill as often. Cats get most of their water from wet food, so he will have plenty waiting for him after his escapades in the window bird watching. CONCLUSION: Pump design aside, this is a great water fountain for your pet to have, if you have a cat that is or a small dog. It’s quiet, and aesthetically pleasing with a blue glow. I purchased this in May of 2023 and it just died today. The motor must be dead, it hasn't came back to life no matter what we did. It's been good, and it was the first fountain my cats had, and they really liked it. For the price, I'm glad it made it this far. I have already purchased a different brand, but I would absolutely recommend this if you are just starting out and want to test how well your cats like it. ... show more

We wanted to switch fountains because our last one would frequently stop flowing and was an absolute pain to clean since it was ceramic and way too heavy. This one is QUIET, all plastic, easy to clean, easy to assemble (I'd recommend a simple youtube search in case this is your first water fountain, just so you get the pump set up correctly), and totally cute. It's got a blue LED light that shines out so you can see where the water level is at without having to get too close. Water flows wonderfully, the machine is lightweight and easy to carry. Water runs through the top spout onto a level tray that has slots all around it letting the water flow back into the reservoir. This is a huge plus for me since our last fountain did not have a covered reservoir so all her hair would consistently fall in the clean water! Nightmare. So do yourself a favor and get this fountain! Nothing but positives, and it will give your fur baby the cleanest water! ... show more

    • Not silent but fairly quiet - update with water trickling noise fix!

Update: our fountain eventually started making a distractingly LOUD water trickling sound. Not a pump noise, but the sound of water trickling. Turns out, we had a faulty filter! It was not as permeable as the other six filters we had used so far. It wasn't letting water pass through at a sufficient rate and water in the clear plastic tray was trickling out of the corner slots into the reservoir below. I replaced that brand-new (faulty) filter with another brand-new one and this is letting water pass through more quickly. Trickling sound eliminated. Fountain back to being silent. Whew! Original review: We've been using this fountain for about a month now. When we first cleaned, assembled, filled, and plugged it in, the pump was SILENT. I was delighted. There is the occasional gentle water trickle noise which I find rather nice. The fountain sits about six feet away from my recliner in an otherwise silent house. After two days of use, the pump began making a very low hum. After another couple of days, the vibrations from the pump were strong enough to cause the stainless tray to rattle loudly on the plastic reservoir base. We tried cleaning and re-seating the pump in the base, adjusting how the stainless tray sits, with the flower insert and without, topped up with water to the fill mark, everything we could think of. The pump has suction-cup feet that not only secure it in the reservoir but provide a small amount of vibration-damping. They weren't up to the job, however. If the fountain were in another part of the house, I might have been able to ignore the noise. One of our cats was still drinking from the fountain but the other one was giving it a wide berth once it started rattling. We contacted the manufacturer, described the issue, and they sent us a replacement pump. The replacement pump has behaved the same way; entirely silent for the first two days, then developing vibrations that transmit through the fountain and cause the stainless top tray to rattle. So far, the noise level is not quite up to what the first pump degenerated to. It is not intolerable to me but one cat still doesn't want anything to do with it. If the pump hadn't been dead silent at the outset, I might have just assumed that this was the normal amount of noise to be expected from this fountain. Perhaps the models with the plastic trays behave differently than the stainless one. We do have a small decorative tabletop fountain in the office, made of slate and copper, and there is no noise from that pump. The weight of the fountain itself is probably the difference there. Other than the vibration issue from the pump, it seems to be a good drinking fountain. The rest of the design is good, relatively easy to clean. Update: if you fiddle with the various fountain components enough, you can eventually get rid of the vibration hum from the pump. The suction cup pump feet sometimes need to be pressed down more tightly to the reservoir, or sometimes less tightly. It is kind of finnicky but once I've chased the vibration noise out, it's usually good til the next time I disassemble, clean, and refill. It's worth it, in my mind. The cats like it, so I'm okay with a little troubleshooting. ... show more
