  • Solid stove
Not a bad deal at all. Only problem I’ve had is the exhaust pipe got stuck together and I had to go buy some new pipe from Home Depot to replace it

  • Be aware.. this is SMALL!!
Overall, this is well built and the materials are thick. The chimney pipes are a nice steel and seem like they would last a while. My biggest issue... this thing is small!! I knew it would be small and its meant to be small... but I didn’t expect it to be THAT small - the entire stove comes in a bag that holds everything and that bag can fit into a 5 gallon bucket. At its lowest height with legs attached is less than 17” - the door is nice but very small making it difficult to stack logs and get this thing started. It runs well but when you close the door damper anymore than half way, the fire goes out. Overall... this would probably be nice for a very small area 8x8 max and that may be too big. I liked it but after 1 burn... i had to return it. Just too small for my liking but it is well built. Just understand what you are buying (I thought I did but I underestimated the actual size. I am going to look into a larger one from the “chef’s.” The racks leave more to be desired. They are 4.5” wide and only about 14” long. Not really drying racks that would be super useful. I wanted to like this and I gave it a shot but it’s just not for me. I can see using this for a small tent or ice fishing shack. Here are some dimensions from the manufacturer website: Dimensions: 17-1/4 inches long, 9-4/5 inches wide (19-1/3 inches with grates) and 16-1/2 inches tall (23 inches with legs extended) Can use wood up to 16-1/2 inches long and 4 inches in diameter Door opening is 5-3/4 inches x 4-1/2 inches Easy setup and only takes a few minutes Firebox measures 16-3/4 inches long, 9 inches wide and 7-1/2 inches tall ... show more

  • Absolute Junk!
Only thing good about this woodstove is the portability. Otherwise it’s a waste of money. Won’t burn wood, smoke just bellows out when you open the door, and the piping doesn’t come apart after one use. Tried drilling holes in the back for more air flow, extending the stove pipe, had a small fire, big fire, and the flames still get smothered out. My guess is the tiny stove pipe (only 2” dia.) is the problem. I’d recommend a different stove. ... show more

  • In short, MEH!
The price is less than what I paid for it originally, the quality is decent, set up and take down is good. The pipes themselves have to be tapped on the ground to get them apart but they do come apart just turn and tap then try to twist (always works). Ventilation, this stove has to have the door open to burn, unless you make bigger holes there’s no way around it. Does it get the job done? Yes but you should have adequate ventilation. It’s perfect for a hot tent but other than that no. I wouldn’t use this for any weather under 40° unless you want to have someone constantly guarding the fire. It’s compact, easy to use, easy to assemble, the pipe is the only part that takes effort in take down and it’s easy to clean out. Spend the extra money if you want a 4 season stove. Good deal for the money. ... show more

  • Not a great design
I won't ever buy a woodstove with a rounded bottom again. The round shape makes the fire settle down the center of the stove which makes it more prone to choking itself out. The rounded shape also makes it more awkward to pack, making it take more precious space in my sled than necessary. Also, the stove pipe is too narrow and has no damper, making it more difficult to manage the fire/smoke/heat. I also had a problem disassembling the pipe after using it for a few days. The pipe sections fused together and I COULD NOT get the sections to separate. The sections fit each other way to snug. Pros: It still gets the job done. It was good enough for winter camping despite the design flaws. Weight isn't too bad with the leg extensions removed. The 18" model was a good size for winter camping. Price was reasonable Overall, I would not recommend. I wish I had spent a little more money for a square shape stove with a larger diameter pipe. ... show more

  • Great stove for camping, not enough to be primary heat source.
We wanted a small wood stove just to take the chill off our cabin in the early spring. At first glance out of box I thought it was too small, but it does a great job. This stove comes in a 14" or 18" models and it is light weight enough, about 22 lbs, to take hiking, or to use anywhere that frowns on open fires. I would recommend the 18" model ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
At this price point I don't know if I should complain because you always get what you pay for, but here are my experiences. The lack of a flue in the stack means it's impossible to set the stove for a very slow burn that stands a chance of going all night or even just several hours, you'll be up adding wood every 2-3 hours at best. Also, we had the same problem others have had where the stove pipe sections got stuck together after use. The fit on the pipe is very tight and I'm sure the creosote we got from burning pine (we're in the PNW) didn't help the situation. The result is a single-piece stove pipe that isn't convenient to pack. We contacted customer service and they were kind enough to send a replacement stove pipe kit but the new pipe had worse manufacturing quality than the first: we couldn't even get all the pieces to fit together (so it's useless), and it would have been a full foot shorter than the original pipe if we had. ... show more

  • Good for the price
It took a few fires to get the hang of it. Start a small fire in the back to get the draft going and add wood slowly. Read the instructions. I am just starting out and I'm learning to use this in the back yard to see if I like the hot tent. I like it so far.
