  • Excellent quality; a little short for my needs
Size: 10FT-2 Color: Blue
This is a really nice, sturdy, durable hose! I got it to help drain water from an above-ground sump pump and it fit perfectly (3/4” fittings). The only thing is that 10 feet was a little short for us, but my fault for not measuring the space.

  • Well engineered and Built, it will meed my needs.
Size: 5FT Color: Black Orange
I’ve been needing to replace the short hose from the hose faucet to the Hose Reel. (it was stiff, UN-wieldy, too short) The reel also needed to be moved a bit farther away. This sounds like the perfect longer term fix. I love the temp range, and the stated pressure rating, as well as the materials listed. Working pressure 200PSI and burst pressure: 600PSI ------------------- I Measured 5 Ft 2-3/4 inches from the far ends of both connectors. It was 14F when I brought this new hose box inside. (it had been outside for a few hours) Hose was that temp. It was double coiled in box and was somewhat stiff as I uncoiled it, but it did not try hard to revert to the coiled shape. Within a couple minutes in 70F room temp, it was already feeling very flexible. This came with one O-Ring already in the female hose end and 3 additional spare hose O-Rings. They are not the plain red rubber ones that will get hard and useless quickly. They are flexible, but not squishy (won’t deform easily). The ends are actual Brass, (not colored iron material- a magnet won’t stick, nor are they aluminum). I won’t be seeing these corroding on me. The Brass ends are well machined. I like that it’s got a full circumference tight crimp on the hose, with the brass sleeve at the edge of the crimp angled-up so it won’t have any sharper edges against the hose. The inside hole diameter of the brass connectors measured half an inch (0.508 inches). The Female end threaded ring rotates easily/smoothly, even when I pushed the rubber strain relief up against it as much as I could. Both ends have 6 flat sides (like a nut) so a regular crescent wrench can be used instead of a pair of pliers to tighten/loosen them. (I’ve had hoses with wide rubber hand tighten things, and they all have fallen off and required pliers after a couple years. I don’t like em.) I tried to abrade or scratch the hose. It was resistant. I pressed my fingernail into it hard, then released and the “dent” almost immediately disappeared. I sanded on the rubber with some 100 grit sandpaper. (5 swipes with pretty good pressure applied.) It left slight scuffing, (a bit duller, but I would have had to work to get much off.) This does seem to be a well engineered and built hose. Yes, it’s only 5 feet long, but it’s perfect for what I need, and I needed something a bit more robust than the ones I can get at local places. The 200PSI working pressure is just a big bonus for me, but certainly speaks to longevity. This will work. ... show more

  • Suitable short size, solid brass fittings, and no kink
Size: 10FT Color: Black Orange
I needed a short length of hose to deal run between my front of the house water spigot and a rectangular bed with 14 hydrangeas. I was tired of dealing with long lengths of hose and I really, really don’t like trying to splice rubber hoses. This is a much better alternative—a suitable short length of hose. I was concerned about the hose inner diameter. Residential hoses commonly come in three sizes, as I understand: ½ inch, 5/8 inch, and ¾ inch. The ¾ size passes a lot of water—and the hose is larger in diameter and harder to handle than the smaller diameter hoses. Most people appear to use 5/8 inch as a trade-off between volume and ease of handling. A second attraction was the solid brass fittings. Connecting non-solid brass to a brass residential water spigot can lead to problems over time in some climates and for some water hardness, I believe. I’ve been in the house 40 years, and I’ve had hose connectors ‘freeze’ to the spigot, and couldn’t get them off even with plumber’s pliers, Liquid Wrench, etc. (Solution, replace the spigot.) I was told by two plumbers that aluminum fittings corrode and stick to brass water spigots and they fuse together. My guess is that aluminum couplings (or any metal that will corrode in a similar manner) which are coated with some chrome-looking coating is also likely to corrode starting with tiny holes in the coating. As a result, I finally stopped buying hoses that don’t have solid brass fittings. I’m pleased with the flexibility and with the solid protectors on both ends of the hose. Overall, I’m pleased with the hose. ... show more

  • Rubber/polymer lightweight, flexible garden hose with brass fittings
Size: 10FT Color: Black Orange
It seems like garden hoses have come a long way. This rubber and polymer (all polymers are plastics or rubber; all plastics are polymer) Since I am not an engineer I can't explain exactly what that means, but since I have a couple of rubber hoses I am replacing due to their weight, this hose feels more like plastic to me. It folds easily, and bounced right back into shape quickly. I don't know if that will still be true after being outside for awhile, but at this point I am impressed. It comes with 3 replacement washers. Hopefully I will remember which drawer those went into when the time comes to replace the original ones. Brass fittings are considered a quality fitting, outlasting plastic or aluminum which generally have a shorter useful life. I read that unscrupulous sellers paint aluminum fittings gold so their customers jump to the conclusion that the gold color means the fitting is brass. In this case the advertising does state the fittings are brass. As I was researching different materials used for garden hoses and their fittings I was reminded that it is not a good idea to drink from garden hoses unless they are specifically labeled as Drinking Water Safe. There are many reasons for this, including plastics leaching into the water from the hose or lead from the fittings. I plan on using this hose to water my landscape plants and am pleased it is lightweight and flexible. ... show more

  • Basic but good
Size: 10FT-3 Color: Blue
It's a decent hose, maybe B tier in terms of quality. The color was why I got it. Hopefully it will last a while. No leaks so far. If it lasts a while it could be A tier. Time will tell.
