I was excited to use this on my dogs teeth. This makes absolutely NO SOUND when you turn it on, I only knew it was working bc I accidentally touched a surface and heard it ringing. So it does work, in that sense. It does not remove very much tartar from dogs teeth. If you carefully use the sharp point you might be able to scratch off some, eventually. I like that it's quiet but wish it was more (harsh?) and actually get the chunks off. +2 stars for how convenient and quiet and -3 for not doing much if anything -UPDATE- I spent about 20 mins on this tooth. (See photos). And it looks wonderful! That's all he could sit through but I'm excited to work on the other side. Saved myself $400+ ... show more

I never review items but this thing worked so well! I regularly brush my dogs teeth but she still accumulated quite a bit of tarter on her back molars as well as some yellowing on her top canines! And this thing got it off in less than 10 minutes! Granted she’s used to me messing with her mouth! But with training sessions I think this thing was SO very worth the money to upkeep her mouth!! Works just like an ultrasonic cleaner! It doesn’t move when it touches the gums but works only on the teeth!! Polish their teeth afterwards and this product was a bang for its price!! Will continue to buy these for any future pups of mine!! 100/10! ... show more

It removes all the tartar, but your dog definitely has to cooperate. My dog is old and predisposed to accumulate plaque because of her breed. I brushed her teeth almost every day, but it was not enough. I noticed that she felt uncomfortable if I kept the tip on the same tooth for too long, so I decided to go back and forth working on different teeth simultaneously. It is not fast at all. It takes a while for one tooth to be cleaned entirely, but it is worth it not to anesthetize her every six months. ... show more

I think I may have missed my calling to be a dentist. The tool is completely silent until you touch the tooth with the tip. It also comes with scrapers and a mirror. It came fully charged out of the box. My dog is very squirmy and the sound the tool makes when it makes contact with her teeth, scares her so I stretched the cleaning over 2 days. It might be best to have someone help you. It took about an hour or two, but that's mainly because my dog wouldn't sit still. I did it in bed and had her lying in between my legs The tool doesn't work if you make contact with skin which I like. It has 5 different strength settings. I read another review about it not making any sound, so I knew what to expect. I'm very pleased with it and I definitely recommend it ... show more

This thing absolutely blew my mind! My 16 year old pup had serious calculus buildup on his teeth and the vet understandably did not want to put him under for a teeth cleaning so I thought I’d give this a try. Definitely saved the money of a vet trip! I wishhh I took before photos but I was just so ready to get to using the dang thing. She was definitely sensitive to the light drill, nothing that hurt, I think the noise is just startling.
