This was our third time using Wisdom Panel. We enjoy learning more about breeds our rescue dogs have that we wouldn’t suspect. It is easy to use anx understand. We have not needed a DNA test for our dogs since 2016 until 2024 and I was SUPER duper excited to learn that you can now opt in to learn about related dogs. I was excited because our newest addition was previously used for breeding and was really overbred. Our vet said she could easily have given birth to over 100 puppies. Well, we got our DNA results in about the same amount of time they said they would have the results ready, maybe a couple of days sooner. I had forgotten that we opted in to see relatives of our pet. We found one of our dog’s offspring! We also saw over 50 other more distant relatives. The photo of our dog’s offspring looked just like her! In our situation, our dog was removed from her previous owner due to neglect and abuse, and it upsets me thinking about where her many pitbull puppies could have ended up. I was hoping that I could connect with other users (assuming they have the ability to opt in or out for communication) to just ask how they came across the dog/what their experience was because there are a lot of unknowns. I would 100% give this product 5 stars if they made the option available to communicate with fellow users. I would definitely recommend this product and purchase again. ... show more

Review of Wisdom Panel Essential Dog DNA Kit: Most Accurate Test for 365+ Breeds, 30 Genetic Health Conditions, 50+ Traits, Relatives, Ancestry - 2 Pack I got this set (you get a 2-pack, which was a big like from me) of DNA kits for my two rescue grand fur babies. We already did a test on the first one (Ruger – the saddle back) and it (Basepaws kit) showed him being 100% German Shepherd. Not long after this, my daughter rescued Karma, the white GSD. Or at least that’s what she was told that she was from the shelter. Bottom line: we wanted to find out for sure what she is and confirm the findings on Ruger. This Wisdom kit touts having more tests done. It should be noted that we used Embark on my other grand fur baby, Kaizer the GSD, that crossed the Rainbow Bridge before my daughter got these two. These are being given to my daughter as Christmas gifts; I am an early shopper. I will endeavor to update this review with any relevant information. So far, it appears that for the money one is spending on a DNA test for a beloved fur baby, this is likely the best bargain. Especially if you have more than one fur baby. ... show more

Easy to use, quick turnaround. I'm not sure of the accuracy. My dog looks like an australian shepherd and I just wanted to know what breeds he's mixed with. According to the test, he is 0% australian shepherd, and I'm not sure I buy that.... However, it's still fun to know what breeds he's mixed with when people ask, even though I don't believe it. ... show more
