I have tried drops, chews, calming collars, sprays and treats at all price points. Nothing has ever worked. Before resorting to a daily medication, his veterinarian recommended that I sprinkle this on his dry food or on his treats and asked me to commit to using it for 3-4 weeks. These worked really well if we kept on a consistent schedule and time given. I noticed it having a lesser effect if given at different times, but that may be just because my dog is a creature of routine. I also really reeeaaalllyyy liked that it had an actual calming effect and didn’t just zonk him out. I want my dog to be less stressed, not drugged up. ... show more

Calming Care has helped our 15 pound terrier mix to have a healthy tummy, and keep his cool. He definitely seems like he's a little more "go with the flow" and less concerned about variations in his usual routine when he is taking this consistently. We have a sweetie pittie mix who had a sketchy early life. As a result she tends to be pretty anxious & sometimes reactive. This supplement has been a game changer! She’s just so much calmer & happier. 💖

It seems to be working for my dog. His "freak outs" aren't as bad and don't last as long as they were. Just be aware, in everything I read, it can take up to 6 weeks to work, which makes sense. It needs to get into their system. But he really seems to be doing a lot better. He would be panting heavily and shaking for hours. And we can't figure out what the triggers are. It just happens. He hasn't done that after about 5 to 6 weeks on the product. Now. The warning. I ordered a box and when I went to use the first one, there were all of these shavings or flakes, as seen in the picture, mixed in the powder. I then checked more packets and they all had this stuff mixed in. I contacted Purina and they asked me to provide them with information so they can report it to their quality department. One of the things that they told me is "If you see the "sold by" listed as anything other than Amazon, this will be a third-party seller and we do not authorize the sale on Amazon by these sellers and cannot guarantee their authenticity." Sure enough. I went back and looked. The boxes that were good were sold by Amazon. The one with these shavings was supplied by and sold by IAQ. And since this product is non-refundable, I'm out almost $35. I bought a new box and made sure it was sold by Amazon this time. ... show more

We have an elderly Great Dane. He began having digestive issues. This was recommended by his vet. We ordered it and began giving it right away. This probiotic works VERY WELL in perhaps most dogs. We are so much a product of what is colonizing our guts, human and beast alike! We don't even realize that what we eat AFFECTS WHAT WE THINK (this is an entire field of research and it is fascinating and well established!) This is a HIGHLY DESIRED PROBIOTIC, but PURINA IS CHARGING TOOOO MUCH FOR THIS PROBIOTIC ... (current pricing January 2024 is over a dollar a day! Available in January 2024 in other packaging for less than 25 cents per day!) ...simply because of their name, the perceived exclusive access, and some broth flavoring. >>> Instead, search for Probiotics Bifidobacterium Longum BB536 ... Available here on Amazon, and save yourself a lot of money, and send a message to Purina that we consumers can research medical literature and figure out that Bifidobacterium Longum BB536 is the EXACT SAME probiotic! Some bacteria have been given a different name in the past to now, the same as plants can have more than one botanical name -- actually they have an older name and a corrected updated name. It is common for example in te plant trade for nurseries to not give up an old botanical name and yet current scientific literature has the new botanical name. So one must know both names to learn accurate information about such particular plants. That is what is happening here. Research it for yourself if you desire on Google Scholar and other published science search sites. It did take me a day of research to figure it out, but I had a hunch that since I could not find this name ANYWHERE --- WHY IS THAT??? -- that there was perhaps another name at play. Why would Purina be the ONLY access to a particular probiotic??!!! That answer is: THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY ACCESS. And what else is happening here is that Purina has found a lifesaving control for anxious pets, and priced it obscenely high. Search for BB536 and save yourself a heap of money. Break open the capsules and sprinkle on pet's food. Watch their calmness levels increase. Highly recommend the probiotic. I do use other of Purina's products for quality at a decent price.
