Did all my home windows. Much cooler in the house and also AC not pushing so hard. Very easy to install. Also don't purchase the spray liquid. Just get a standard spay bottle from local store and fill with water and a little Johnsons and Johnsons baby shampoo. I’m giving 5 stars because it is completely opaque black as it says. However it does have pics in ad that show you can see a bit through it which is what I wanted for my skylight. I really wanted some light filtered in so this is not the tint for me. It was also very difficult to apply by myself. Tip: keep respraying the soapy water if it dries and don’t peel the entire back off. Just get your corners on one end straight the use scraper as you peel the back an inch at a time. First half was full of bubbles but second half was completely smooth as I figured out the technique. ... show more

I just got this film installed, and I am happy with how well it looks from the inside (the slight tint) as well as from the outside. However, bear in mind that this product is shiny on both sides meaning that the side that cannot be looked through will likely be the side with the most light, as such its difficult to see through from the outside during the day when outdoor light is brighter than indoor light and vice versa. Mine did not come with instructions, but it did come with a small box knife and a plastic squeegee and it was even the pretty easy to install I have seen comments about the width of the film being smaller than expected and I believe this is intentional due to how the film bubbles at the edges when too close to the edge of the glass. Overall I am happy with this product but I did deduct a star due to the lack of instructions and inability to be a privacy film at night. For others who did not receive instructions either the way I put mine up was as follows: Using tape to hold the top edge of the film to the (near) edge of the window (you will want a small gap, you will thank yourself later) flatten the film out to the bottom of the window and cut to length with the knife while leaving a gap at the bottom as well Once cut take the film off the window and spray the window with a water or alcohol and dish soap mix which will make application easier Now, get two new pieces of tape and use them on a corner to peel the clear backing off of the adhesive side and fold the tape over in some way to prevent re-sticking. Lay the film down on a table or the floor on top of a drop cloth near the window shiny (not clear film) side down and peel backing off while spraying the film with the solution from before to keep it from sticking to itself until the entire film is backing free (for larger windows you might not want to peel the whole thing but mine was small so it wasn't an issue, I'd recommend peeling from top to bottom and stopping halfway in that case) Spray the widow again to ensure the whole thing is still wet (usually just the top needs it) and align the top edge of the film with the near top edge of your window and slide it to adjust as needed Check for hairs, fibers, or lint at this step and try not to leave finger prints when you remove them Starting at the top of the film squeegee the solution and air bubbles out from center to edge and work your way down holding your squeegee at an angle so that the bubbles don't go back up the film (For example: top center to left edge, top center to right edge, move down repeat) The process should be simple from there, if the edges bubble weirdly you may have it too close to an edge and will need to adjust or trim the film to fix it The edges do peel up occasionally so just squeegee them back down and they should be fine ... show more

Extremely disappointed with this product, my original order arrived creased in the box; Amazon replaced it and ship me a replacement ; replacement took 5 days to get to me delaying my project. The replacement arrived all scratched up (see picture) but I needed to use it as I was already delayed 5 days - the film does not stay on the glass and will lift off at the edges… am extremely dissatisfied and frustrated with the quality. I would not recommend this product! Tip for those installing, cut it 1 inch longer on all sides larger than your glass and install - the extra inch allows you to hold the film and adjust (use lots of soapy water). Once in place and squeegeed, use a straight edge and a very sharp blade to trim. ... show more

I have been tinting on and off for a long time for my own cars. I normally mess it up when applying mostly due to low quantity flimsy thin ply paper. This film was very easy to work with and was by far the best film I have ever used. I would highly recommend buying this. It also comes with some tools in the package. The little blade is great but not so keen on the plastic tool so I used an old credit card instead. I am very satisfied with the results. Happy I finally found someone that sells quality tinting film. I will be ordering more! ... show more

    • Good luck trying to separate the adhesive backing from the protective film
After several attempts at installing this product I began to believe there was no way there could be two layers of film- one protective and the other with the adhesive. I had to use duct tape in a corner of the cut film on both sides to get enough traction to pull the protective layer away from the adhesive. I discovered the best way to install was to pull the protective layer off, and then thoroughly spray down the adhesive side with water. I then sprayed the window and was able to position the film where I wanted it. Bubbles generally came out but if there was not enough water between the glass and the film, the bubble kind of "crinkled" and would not come out. By wetting both the glass and the film I was able to virtually eliminate that issue. I realized too late that there were instructions on the product page and not in the box. I was only working with pieces about 11 wide and 38 long, so they were fairly easy to handle. Due to my failure to find and read instructions, I ended up ruining about 5 sections before I figured it out. There was one section that didn't look very good as it was put up "the old way," but I am about 1.5 inches short in length with what remains so I guess that one remains. I will say once I got each section applied and bubbles and creases removed, it seems to be working well. I think they need to feature the bit about the protective film cover and the adhesive film parts more prominently in the description. Looks- 5/5, application ease- 3/5, detailed instructions 2/5.
