  • Nice lighters
I bought 2 of these lighters for around $10. You can't go to any store anywhere and find 2 Torch letters. That's cheap. They're Durable and I have had no issues with any of them.

  • Triple Jet Torches a Winner Pair at a Great Price
Color: Black & Silver
Under another “brand” imprint two years ago, we purchased this set. Now (same vendor/same design/just different name on lighter) we are ordering backups since we’ve just fired up the second one. For those of you wondering, our first lighter lasted two years with daily use and multiple lights for cigars. That’s two of us smoking mid-range cigars that often require several lights throughout our Happy Hour(s). Yes, we have higher end smokes, just not practical/affordable for every day. An occasional shot of canned air across the jets was the only maintenance required, and not really necessary unless, like us, you have friends who stuff their cigar tip down into the jet well. Etiquette requires that we not correct them. Here are the real pluses for us: Visible levels of butane, so you know when you’re getting low. Large flame adjustment wheel—yes, it will rotate accidentally, especially in a pocket, but that’s an easy fix. (see notes below) Longevity – this is a real bonus compared (also below). One drawback that doesn’t affect our rating. The top pops up opposite the action lever. In a breeze, that means you can also torch your thumb. And we have. Often. And, one last thing: toward its end of life, the flame shut-off had a “delay response” that required closing the top instead of releasing the lever to extinguish. Not good; not a deal breaker. I believe someone else has mentioned this as well. Be prepared. These comments are based on comparisons to “fancier” looking torches with the same brand imprints. You’ll find those in black/gold/silver colors. We’ve owned at least half a dozen or more of those; they simply don’t last. You cannot see the butane levels. The flame adjustment requires a tiny screwdriver at the base, which is a pain. They’re fussy, and require regular cleaning, but still won’t come close to a year’s worth of use-- and some, barely six months before clogging up. One design plus: the top pops up on the action lever side so thumbs are protected while lighting. (That would be the only change on those pictured here that would be much appreciated.) ... show more

  • Great torch
Color: Black & Silver
Great little torch, wish it was a but larger. Flame is intense, a little difficult to fill sometimes and it will spray out.

  • So far so good, excellent for the price, they look awesome
Color: Black & Silver
They come with no Gas. I have been using them for a couple of weeks now, not a single issue. They look really cool, they have a chromate finish with some shiny finish, the design is great. They came in a nice box that can be easily an nice gift for somebody. Would buy again for sure.

  • The inexpensive unsung hero of the cigar world
Color: Black & Silver
I've been using these for about 4 months about once a week. The fuel lasts a long time and tank is a perfect size. The dial to adjust flame is in a place where it's easy to adjust and these lighters just work. Since I've had them I've used about 3/4 of a tank between the two but topped them off a few weeks ago to take on a trip. Great gift idea and I love I can take this on a trip and have a reliable lighter. I like the idea that if I lost one I wouldn't be out a bunch of money, but sad i wouldve lost an amazing torch lighter. Worth every cent! ... show more

  • Perhaps a More Backpacker/Hiker Useful Style of Arc Lighter
For a Backpacker or Hiker having a source of ignition for fire starters is critical... Even a long distance Through Hiker should have some source of ignition for an emergency fire, despite the small added weight. The Go-To igniter is the BIC or Mini BiIC due to it's reliability, small size and weight, and long-lasting life (a BIC has about an hour of fuel over maybe 3000 "lights", a Mini about 1/3 of that) - but a breeze and freezing temperatures are the enemy of the BIC. The UCO Incendiary Storm-proof match beats the wind, rain, and cold, but using them is fiddly, requires practice, and the condition of the striker is critical, too. The Ferrocerium Rod or Flint Sparker are great, simple sources of hot sparks that can ignite highly flammable materials, but their use takes practiced skill and good conditions - more an always-with-you just-in-case source of ignition. Enter the Plasma Arc lighter. Wind is no problem. Actuating it is a button press. The Arc is hot enough to ignite any fire starter - my cotton-vaseline starters, my waxed jute cord "long match", my "Baddest Bee" starters, my Pyro Putty, even a thinned Fatwood stick all ignite in an instant with a brief second of Arc. (Then the starters are used to ignite the tinder in the fire lay, which in turn ignites the kindling, and soon you have a blazing campfire). Now there are two electrode designs, and I prefer this "exposed electrode" design to ignite the starters rather than the "opposed electrode" design, which seems more for smokers. There are multiple lighter styles, too. This cylinder-shaped "all-weather" style apparently has a smaller capacity battery than the zippo-format "all-weather" style, but hopefully more than other, fancier Arc Lighter designs. I worry, too, that this one with embedded flashlight might too easily turn on or drain the battery in use - an igniter is critical for the duration of your outing. So I've wrapped 1" Gorilla Tape around the cylinder enough to be higher than the button to prevent that. Of course, if you carry a recharger for your cell phone, you can simply recharge the Arc Lighter "in the field". While these are rechargeable, and it only takes a second to ignite a fire starter, how many ignitions one has is unproven, but said to be perhaps over 50... enough for most backpacking trips. And there is a limit on how many times these can be recharged, too... said a few hundred cycles. Let's say that means a life of 15,000 ignitions... that's equivalent to over 5 BIC's, so from a "Green" standpoint, the Arc Lighter may be less "bulk waste", but a Lithium cell is involved. Cost-wise and effectiveness-wise, too, this particular Arc lighter is more expensive in the long run than BIC's, but for reliably igniting starters in all conditions, the Arc is more effective. DOWNSIDES: This cylinder Arc Lighter is bigger than a BIC. The Arc Lighter is clearly more complex, so "quality in manufacturing" can compromise its life. The "power" of the Arc is less than that of the larger flame produced by the BIC, limiting the use of the Arc to igniting fire starters rather than a piece of tinder, for example. The Arc is powered by a Lithium rechargeable cell which is degraded by low temperature, so similar to the BIC, the Arc lighter needs to be kept warm, kept next to your body. RECOMMENDATION: There are so many sellers of this style Arc Lighter, likely they are all made in the same factory. I'd recommend these even with my limited experience so far - just buy from a seller with highest ratings. These are "Greener", and even this cylinder model should last adequately long for most outings (especially if you have a USB recharger along), and will do an excellent job igniting your choice of fire starters, and are reasonably inexpensive. WHY only 4 Stars? These observations/recommendations are based in what an Arc Lighter should do, not what they actually demonstrate by using the Arc Lighter from full charge to exhausted, counting the "ignitions" then recharging and repeating until the lighter ultimately fails - further, such testing needs to be done on a number of "identical" lighters from many vendors before "the truth" is known about the manufacture quality and consistency, about the number of ignitions per charge and number of charge-discharge cycles... for each style. But Arc Lighters are promising, eliminating the frustration of ignition under poor weather conditions... give one a try. ... show more

  • Better than I expected
Color: Black & Silver
Usually torches at this price are not much better quality than a disposable lighter. The quality has exceeded my expectations. It does consume a lot of fuel but I guess that is the nature of a triple flame torch.
