It feels super cheap and doesn’t work. I put a battery in, twist the timer and it doesn’t go anywhere. Can’t even hear a ticking noise. Will be returning. Update: I got it to work! I'm not sure how, but it finally started working. It does feel cheap, but it works and does what it says. Hopefully it keeps up! ... show more

It's simple, easy and straight forward. I bought this so I can have a visual timer and also it's cute. It's so helpful especially since I highly suspect I have adhd. I constantly and consistently lose track of time. And when you're losing minutes everyday of your life, you never feel like your life is together. Some of my uses: - Most obviously for work and being productive. I even use it to set a maximum time for things like dishes and folding laundry. Having that visual reminder in front of my prevents me from getting distracting and dilly dallying. It gives that urgency to get things done when you have to complete it in a certain amount of time. Almost like a game. - Besides for work/being productive, I also use this for free time activities. (I highly recommend) It prevents from extending my free time. It makes me feel like I've acknowledged my distracting urges, whether that's to procrastinate or you just really want to google something in that moment and get sidetracked. It allows me to enjoy my free time activities without feeling guilty. Some things I wish it had: - Wish it was rechargeable with cord instead of batteries. (Come on, it's 2022) - It'd also be nice if it has another sound besides the classic 90's beeping. - I wish I had button on top that I can press/hit once the timer is up. Instead of grabbing it, turning it around, and hitting the switch. (I already have enough executive dysfunction. If you’re comparing multiple desk timers, get this one!!! I struggle with focus and organization due to ADHD, and this has made such a difference. It’s straightforward (in a good way) and very good quality (and comes in a gorgeously designed minimalist all-recyclable packaging - which I’ve kept to use as a “travel case” for the timer). Just turn the dial to your desired time and watch the time slowly slip through your fingers (haha) - it’s genuinely helped me be far more productive and time-aware. There is one simple switch on the back that indicates whether you want the alarm to sound when the time is up or not. Ignore any of the other reviews complaining about this - I’ve found it’s simplicity is useful. When the timer runs out (and if the sound switch is turned on), the alarm doesn’t go off indefinitely — it only only sounds for four pairs of beeps before automatically stopping. (If you want to silence it sooner, you can turn the switch to off and then immediately back to on, for next time.) The alarm’s beep is appropriately loud/piercing in a way that mildly jolts your focus if you’re distracted, but isn’t excessively loud or grating. The point seems to be that it gets your attention in a way that won’t let you miss the timer going off — but this alarm knows it’s not trying to wake someone out of a deep slumber. Overall, this is straightforward, attractive, and well-made. The designers clearly took time to consider what it would be used for, and tailored the functionality to that. As soon as the battery was in I realized I had no idea how the alarm was going to sound! It’s a nice 4 beeps. Unless you turn it off, it will beep at you again a minute or two later.
