  • Revolutionized the way we deliver training
Size: 12 Inch Style: Standard Pattern Name: Timer
I'm part of a team of volunteers that train other adult leaders. We have an intense curriculum with far more material than can be fully explored in the time allowed. Until this year, we had one staff member whose sole job was to keep the rest of us on time. Borrowed one of these clocks and it revolutionized our training. We position it on the floor facing the instructor (and away from the students) and it provides constant feedback during each module. Our volunteer instructors do a much better job pacing their material and managing the discussions. This clock is simple, reliable and big. No fancy controls or complicated settings. Just twist to the time-remaining you want and the countdown begins. And its big enough that you don't have to think about the time - it's just there in your peripheral vision. It's now a permanent part of our training kit. ... show more

  • A great visual representation of the passing of time.
Size: 8 Inch Style: Educator Edition Pattern Name: Timer
Im trying to teach a 5 year old the passing of time. The kid has no idea what a minute is beyond the definition - so the ultimatum that “you have 15 minutes more of playtime” or “you need to brush your teeth for 2 minutes” means nothing. But with this, not only do you see that 15 minutes is a 1/4 of the whole clock face but you can watch the red dwindling away to nothing. My only issue is I wish the numbers were printed as they are on a clock face so I could also teach them how to read the minutes on a clock face. ... show more

  • Love it, but don't make this mistake...
Size: 12 Inch Style: Educator Edition Pattern Name: Timer
I bought 2 of these in February this year. I use one at home and one at work. It is excellent for keeping kids on task. I made the mistake of using the magnets to hold it on my dry erase board. I came back after a weekend and found it had crashed to the floor, the magnetic strip was still on my board, but came out of the back of the timer. Sadly, it is now completely broken. I will be purchasing a new one, but don't trust the magnetic strips. ... show more

  • Using it every day. Relationship with time limations has changed.
Size: 8 Inch Style: Educator Edition Pattern Name: Timer
This has become an essential part of the daily life of our son. Because he is five he does not take reference to actual clocks yet. So without this product he had to rely on dad's indication whether or not his time limitation for something was reached. I could tell that he did not like that. To him it always felt like his dad was cutting him short or he was not given enough in the first place. But by using this product we are visually agreeing together on time and he is given an objective tool to refer to. Now when his time is over he accepts that whatever duration we agreed on is over and he keeps his promises like stop watching Youtube (which is banned most of the time anyway), play time is over and brushing his teeth, getting out of bath etc. etc. You can use this product many ways and the best way I found is to "reward" him with more time. On most ocassions I indicate a certain red area first, let's say equivalent to 20 minutes. Then I tell him that he can put a little more time himself because he did a great job at x today. However I am not actually granting him anything extra because I initially gave him less time then I had planned anyway but for him it feels like I am rewarding him. By doing this he almost never protests for more time when the alarm sounds. He feels like he already negotiated some time from his dad beforehand and therefor we are both winners in this deal. Without this tool, time limitations felt like a punishment. Not anymore. I am taking 1 star away though because the carton squares with the cartoon activities that you can cut out of the box are absolutely rubbish and unusable. They do not fit on top of the clock. ... show more

  • Time's on Your Side with this Classroom Essential
Size: 12 Inch Style: Educator Edition Pattern Name: Timer
I must tell you about the TIME TIMER 12 inch Visual Timer; a boon in my classroom as a first-grade teacher. This marvel not only helps with time management, but it also goes the extra mile to assist kids with special needs - an excellent tool for our diverse classrooms today. Pros: - It's super visible from all corners of the room. The kid sitting in the last row? No problem. - Love the sturdy magnet! It stays put on my whiteboard, making it accessible for all to see. - The dry-erase activity card is a genius addition. - I appreciate the optional alarm feature, a considerate addition for sound-sensitive environments. Cons: - A slight hiccup is the 60-minute limit. I typically use a timer for shorter intervals, like 10 minutes. The kids find it hard to see the time passing until it's almost done. Despite the timer's long interval, I must say, this product has made its mark in my classroom routine. The absence of ticking sounds (yes, no more classic 'tick-tock') and the ease-of-use makes it a great tool for everyone. It's been especially helpful for students who need that visual cue to comprehend the passage of time better. Now, here's my two cents: if this had a feature to switch the timer limit to 20 minutes, it would be unbeatable. Even so, I can confidently say that it's a worthy investment for any teacher out there. Grab your TIME TIMER and let it lend a hand (or a minute) in shaping those bright minds! ... show more

  • Lifesaver
Size: 8 Inch Style: Educator Edition Pattern Name: Timer
We use this timer multiple times a day every day. It makes such a difference for my kids to be able to see the exact amount of time they have to get their homework done, to finish their food, to get ready in the morning, etc. This has been a lifesaver for us, and I highly recommend it!
