  • Great little scooter
I love it. Too much fun! Customer support was Great! ok, I'm 6'2" 275lb. My back won't allow me to stand or walk very far. For longer walks etc, this is perfect. Likes: Extremely light weight. Take off the seat & it's easy to put in the back of our truck. Price- Look at what similar buggies are & I believe it's a steal. Construction- This is built like a tank & love the pneumatic tires. Not a soft ride, but much better than hard tires. Fast- Much faster than the ones in the stores. Can almost keep up with the grandkids on their bikes. *note it will tip at high speeds. Ask me how I know. lol Comfortable - Nice big seat & folding back. Service - Had an issue with a broken part ( during shipping I assume) Was contacted very quickly & a new seat was at my door in just a couple of days. No fuss, no fight. Emailed a photo of damage & they took care of it. Thanks to Blake! Batteries - I like the idea of having several small batteries. I bought the optional larger one also. Go until it dies & swap in another & you can head back... unless you have all 3 with ya. Thoughts: Narrow wheelbase- Since I'm tall & top heavy, it is easy to tip it over at speed. I've run through some areas that it just wasn't designed for & it got a bit tricky. My fault not the scooter's. Its not a 4wd atv . lol Turning radius- Not really a con, but it's not good at running around in the house. I bought it for outdoors, not going from bedroom to bedroom. It does fine in Walmart :-). If the radius was tighter, it would tip easier. If frame was wider to handle a shorter radius, it might not fit in your car. No Key - Would be a nice addition, but usually someone in the group is happy to sit on it while do what ever... So, I really like my scooter. It does what I want it to and the price was right. I feel like a kid on a go-cart, lol, My back is much happier, and I don't have to sit it out when my wife & grandkids want to go somewhere that takes some walking. ... show more

  • oh yes the batteries
SuperHandy Mobility Scooter Explorer I purchased this scooter a couple of days ago, it arrived well packed in a solid box. All major components were per-assembled I just had to install the front wheels and the seat, tools were not supplied. In all fairness I must divide these comments into three parts, “Frame”, “Ride” and “Batteries”. 1) The frame For this price range, it looks and feels very strong and well made, the seat is large, very comfortable. The distance between the handlebar and the seat is ample I also like the shock absorption and the smoother ride of pneumatic tires. Removing and installing the seat is really easy. Light and small enough to fit in my SUV. 2) The ride Although not a Ferrari, the motor is more than capable to stroll in any shopping center. The difference between fast and slow speeds is small, the reverse speed is just fine. When maxing out the accelerator in fast or slow speeds the ride feels a little jerking motion. The brakes are adequate and so is the accelerator. For those of us accustomed to stop by letting go of the accelerator we find a little awkward using the brake instead of just releasing the accelerator. 3) 48V 2Ah batteries... oh yes the batteries. As requested in the manual both batteries were fully charged before the first use (charger went to green light). I made a test drive, non stop, slow speed, flat surface and I drove until the battery image started flashing and the scooter turned it self off. 1.770 miles distance traveled. 3.44 mph average speed. 30:53 duration. Battery voltages readings using a meter: 49.92V before test ride 39.56V after test ride The 39.56V cut off is normal and desirable. Now then, considering that the voltage of a full 100% charged battery should be 58.4V the 49.92V (69% charge) falls short of expected levels thus reducing travel range. The “5 miles Est. Max Range Per Battery” is abundantly exaggerated on a 69% charged battery. Is it because the batteries wont take the full charge (bad) or the charger is not powerful enough to fully charge them (also bad) I don’t know. Conclusion: I give 5 stars to the frame and the ride. I give less than 1 star to the batteries or the charger as they fall way short. ... show more

  • Good quality and good customer service
I bought this mobility scooter for my husband. He is 6' 6" and 315 pounds with a bad heart and ascites. This scooter is heavy duty and easy to operate. Very pleased that he has legroom for his long legs. The front basket in big and the basket under the seat holds the recharging unit nicely with room to spare. At least now he can get around and go outside once in awhile. This company has very good customer service and easy to contact and willing to work with you to be able to use and enjoy using their quality product. ... show more

  • Horrible Customer Support
I opened the package and laid all the parts out and discovered that one of the four bolts needed to assemble the footrest was missing. I also noticed that the handlebars were not lined up with the front wheels. Ordinarily, this is not a problem on most bicycles and similar equipment as it is an easy adjustment. Not so on this scooter The scooter steering shaft has an indentation down the length of the shaft with a corresponding pin that locks it into place. If it is not assembled correctly in the factory, then it is impossible to align the wheels with the handlebars. None of the cam locks allow this adjustment to be made. When I spoke to customer support, I could not get the person to understand the problem. I was told to take pictures and send them to them. At first, the guy didn't even know what scooter I was referring to. It was as if he didn't even know they sold scooters. As for the missing bolt, I was told to go to the hardware store and buy a replacement and they would reimburse me. It is a proprietary bolt and so far I have no luck in finding a replacement. The scooter itself works fine and I am fairly happy with it, but I dread the day that a real problem crops up because their customer service is from the stone age. I would not purchase again based solely on their lack of attention to service after the sale. ... show more
