First of all, I am not, repeat - NOT, one who writes reviews for products. However, with the wonderful customer service I received, I just had to sing the praises about my experience with the company we purchased it from. Been meaning to order another hammock for several summers now and finally got around to doing it! We were looking for one similar to a friend’s weaved hammock that we absolutely loved and this ended up being the closest we could find…not too big a weave that lets elbows, feet or other larger body parts poke through and one that could hold a bit of weight (my hubby is a big 6’ linebacker type guy and I’m definitely not what you would call, “petite”) but without the rough, rope-like feel. Hammock arrived. Unfortunately, there was something a little strange with the weaving…like one strip of it got weaved too tight so it literally felt like you had a perpetual wedgie when you laid down in it. At first we thought we could make do however, the long term wear and tear started to concern me, especially considering that my husband and I aren’t smallish type people, that eventually I decided to call the company to see what we could do to remedy the situation. (I thought maybe soaking it in water and then having my hubby sleep in it overnight to stretch it out would help?) I called during business hours and the customer service rep - not an calling autobot or overseas call in service - kindly listened to my first-world dilemma and offered to ship us out another one, no problem! It had to be shipped out soon after I talked with her because it came within just a few days. So now we have this wonderful hammock that the whole family loves, one that both my husband and I can cuddle up in - without the perpetual wedgie feeling. One side note to all you “Karens” out there or if you’ve never owned a weaved hammock before - give your hammock some time to stretch. We have ours on a stand, outside on our deck. So when you first go to set it up, the chain links may not be long enough at first. We had some extra chain links and carrabeaners (sp?) to get it to initially fit on the hammock stand. When you go to sit/lay on it you may almost end up on the ground (or on the ground/bar like my hubby and I did when we first got in it). I promise you, it will be okay (unless you got one with a wedgie weave, then you may need to call customer service). Just give it a few days….each time you get in the hammock it will stretch, keep shortening the chain link length to your height preference. We’ve had a bit of a crazy year but, I can honestly say, its one of the few things that has given us a reprieve from it all, it’s become one of our favorite places to chill this summer…a happy place!:-) ... show more

A hammock is something that you should relax in. This is a very well made hammock with a tight weave so you don't get your hand or foot stuck in it. It's not cotton, so it doesn't stretch too much and it certainly holds 300 lbs without any issue. I do like the color and I didn't think I would at first, but leaving it out all the time, it gets covered with leaves and dropping and they don't stain it at all. It's super comfortable, well made with a nice spreader bars and chains, and did I mention super comfortable? You'll be happy with this hammock. First off, hammocking (it should be a legit word) is über, über relaxing. Since I got this thing, it’s been outside and in the elements. It’s become a weekly ( sometimes more if I’m being honest) ritual to sign off at work, join my wife out back, and listen to music, audiobooks, nothing at all. This hammock is amazing. It’s really well made and the rope feels like fabric but with actual airflow. I just bought another sunny dayz hammock- lagoon stripes I think. There’s nothing wrong with this one (I’m laying in it as I’m writing this) except it’s faded and bleached- like a favorite hoodie. But as opinions vary on just how attractive a faded hammock is, I’m upgrading. Take better care of it than i did and it’ll last forever. ... show more

I researched long and hard to find a hammock that would hold up in the high winds and extreme conditions of the Colorado mountains. This is the one: Synthetic, comfortable, sufficiently webbed so that the wind doesn't rip it off the deck... Absolutely love it. There were two slight drawbacks: One, it took multiple tries to find a big enough stand for this. It is huge, and will sag to the ground in all but the longest of hammock stands. Two--and this is a very minor gripe--but it's quite flat when sufficiently stretched, rather than pouch-shaped, making it a little sketchy to get in and out of when doing so with more than one occupant. I'd gotten a larger size with a generous weight limit hoping for family hammock time, but it is really only practical for one person, two people who are very comfortable with one another, or three acrobats. ... show more

I got this hammock for my husband for his birthday. I picked this one because of the weight allowance so both of us could cuddle and such in it. We are both tall and he is a bit overweight so we needed something more than the usual 400/500 lb restriction that the others have. This hammock is already loved by all 7 of us. My husband and kids fight over who gets to lay in it. My husband lays in it nearly everyday to unwind from work and such. The ropes adjust and are tight together to give support. It even wraps around you depending on how you are laying on it. It is really long so it needs a bar that it can wrap around to get tight and up from the ground. I found a two bar one that works great!!! I’ll be sewing a long pillow to go with it, but it doesn’t necessarily need one. Would be a plus though. I saw other hammocks have pillows depending on brand and like the idea of one. Can’t recommend this one enough! Worth the price! ... show more

It was most important to be sturdy but equally important to be soft and it is both. It really does fit two people and it doesn't feel like it's going to collapse under nearly 500 lb.
