Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for an aesthetically pleasing fire pit with solid functionality and practical design, this product is a good choice. Its durability is a concern though. Therefore, it's recommended to regularly clean and cover the pit when not in use to increase its lifespan. Considering the price point, make sure to weigh the aesthetics and functionality against potential longevity issues.

  • A nice addition to the back patio
I've had 3 fires in it before writing the review. My previous fire pit was smaller/shallow and this has nice depth for a larger fire and it's worked well. Gives a good amount of space to build a proper starting fire setup and the cover with the metal arm are good for visual but the screen isn't going to stop a lot of the embers that float up. The look is nice, it's not a super heavy piece, the bronze finish I believe is paint but so far, it's held it's color and no visual changes or physical with cracks/peeling or anything so hopefully it's a paint that is set for high temps. I did buy a cover for it and will clean it out and maintain it unlike my last one from a different manufacturer, which was exposed to the elements and lasted about 10 years before rusting out. In all, it looks nice, it has performed as expected, so far, it's exactly as I had hoped! ... show more

  • Good looking fire
Love the look. Quality design and materials. I had to buy a metal grate to elevate the wood for air circulation and to avoid burning out the bottom. Their is only one drain hole (not sure if that's good or bad). Clever design feature is that the whole bowl can be easily removed from the frame for cleaning. Might be on the higher end of the price range in this category, but seems worth it so far. ... show more

  • Great price point classic pit
Sturdy and nice-looking functional pit. Went with this one because cheaper ones looked like poor quality junk. More expensive ones, tiki and solo, were too expensive and don't radiate heat as much. When did we become such babies with the smokeless option? I get it, however, for a completely combustion-free experience, you can run an extension cord to your porch with a space heater. Just saying. It's never so terribly windy and unpredictable that smoke in the face is an issue. A smoky aroma and open pit are for true fire enthusiasts. Other designs, which i considered and can afford, are tailored to yuppie posers and generic middle America. Made in China. What isn't? I like this grill. I do not think it's a good value. It's a specialty item. It's true value is closer to 120$. I could've bought a propane grill for the price. Again, it's a review. Read one review that sprayed Krylon high heat max on inside of pit. I flagged it. DO NOT DO THIS!!! It specifically says on the Krylon and other high heat paint to not spray surfaces directly exposed to flames due to degredation and release of toxic fumes. I am adding lava rocks in mine to provide a heat buffer. Cauldron is a lil thin. Negative. However, it is lightweight. Positive. Portable 6/10. Just a lil chunky without SUV. Buy this pit if you are in 200$ price range and want classic pit. Buy tiki or Solo if you want a smokless option. My choice would've been Tiki as it radiates better than Solo and doesn't look like a paint can. ... show more

  • Beautiful, spacious fire container, but it rusts easy
Great product, only complaint is the amount of rust after some use and rain; not sure how long it will last. Probably similar to other products in the price range

  • Beautiful and sturdy!
Love this fire pit! It was easy to assemble and it’s sturdy. Aesthetically, it’s beautiful and we love our new chill area. Either it be family fun making s’mores, relaxing area with friends, or romantic fire with my husband, it’s been such a fun addition to our backyard. We love it!

  • Works as a gas fire pit too
I was looking for a cheaper, good-looking, and portable option for a gas fire pit, and this worked out great (see photo). The following fit inside perfectly: "Stanbroil Stainless Steel 24" Round Flat Fire Pit Burner Pan w/18 Fire Ring Installed", and you can get the latter as a kit with everything you need to hook up to gas or propane (just search around). I had to enlarge the hole at the center of the fire pit using a step drill bit (e.g., "amoolo Titanium Step Drill Bit (10 Sizes), 1/4" to 1-3/8" HSS Unibit for Metal, Wood, ..."). I also put three bricks between the base and the burner pan to elevate the rocks/logs it a bit. Everything but the logs was ~$400, but the dense realistic logs were another $500 (they are "Warming Trends MSS Mountain Split"; I was scared off of cheaper options because of foam cores and bad spells). The entire setup can easily be moved around by two people. ... show more

  • The quality of everything has decreased over time.
Some years ago, I bought a firepit directly at my local Home Depot store and it lasted quite a while. I do not expect that the Sunnydaze will last long without burning a hole in the bottom of the pit because it is not very thick. The quality of everything has decreased over time.

  • It’s great for a few seasons
This is our second firepitt from sunny daze. A little smaller than our other one for they don’t offer the larger one any longer. It appears to be a nice unit but can tell it won’t last more than a few seasons if you use it a bunch. The metal is not that thick and will have fatigue due to heat over time. But in the mean time, roast marshmallows away!!! ... show more
