I read the reviews and felt confident in buying this even though some reviewers commented on dents when they opened the box. Well, the same thing happened to me. The box was undamaged but the item was. OK, it's not a great dent but still it shouldn't be there. I am disappointed. This actually is nicer than I expected. Don't know how long it will last but, for the price, I appreciate what it is. I like the design (big reason why I chose it) but the color is much more rust color than the product photos (see my photo), show the pit as being much closer to black.. and that's the color I was hoping to get, closer to black. Assembly wasn't bad but they could have told you in the instructions that the screws were two different lengths, one length for the body and one for joining sections of the ring. Fortunately, I noticed that near the start, so I only had to remove one screw from a leg when its shortness caught my attention. So put aside those shorter screws for screwing together sections of the ring at the end. I'm definitely getting the cover for this, as I think this might rust and the birds and squirrels already are taking interest in it. I just put it together so can't comment on the warmth but, overall, I'm happy to give it a 4 star. Look forward to the burning test run. If it's a fail, I'll add to this review. Otherwise, assume it's a decent level win. ... show more

This fire pit is great! Bought it for family nights during the summer, used on July 4th enjoyed roasting marshmallows, sโ€™mores and watching the kids and family enjoy the fire, love the cut-outs on the sides. I did take advice from another review & drilled 2 more holes in bottom added just a little sand and a small grate so air could circulate under wood/charcoal and we loved it. Also bought a can of black paint that is for barbecues to protect firebox. Iโ€™m a 75 yr old lady that is very pleased with the ease of putting this together, happy with it all!
