This is one of those items that either works or doesn’t work. The definition of it working as expected is that I could stick it on virtually any surface and stick my iphone to it and have it hold the phone with the same strength as the magsafe charging disk, which has a powerful enough magnet that it can hold the phone securely with an apple magsafe case attached. An ordinary magnet won’t do that because the phone’s magnet isn’t ordinary, it is designed only to work with apple accessories. DOES IT WORK You probably can think of a dozen places you could stick this thing IF it works. My use was unique, in a car but not on the driver’s side. I am often the passenger in a friend’s car and there is absolutely nowhere to put my phone other than in my pocket, which isn’t practical because if it rings I have to unbuckle my seatbelt to fish the phone out. Not being my car I didn’t want one of those fancy adjustable car mounts and I absolutely didn’t want something that would clip to his vent louvers and possibly break them. I needed something that was as minimalistic as possible, that I could hide on the tunnel alongside the seat or some other place where I could reach it easily but the mount would be almost invisible. It does pass that test - the 3M tape is strong as long as you clean the surface properly before sticking it in place. By the way, In looking for a place to mount this I discovered that some vehicles, including my friend’s, have almost no flat surfaces. The magnet’s adhesive disk won’t be as effective unless you find a spot that’s flat. That worked out well for me, I found such a place alongside the tunnel where it is out of harms way but easy to reach down and grab as needed. I like that with a mounting disk this small I could be creative and find just the right spot. HOLD THE PHONE But the real test is will it hold my 13 PRO safely even over bumps? Unfortunately this company has pretty much ignored their page and is still talking about the 12 series. That doesn’t help for anyone who has the latest phones. Sure it SHOULD work because the magnetic feature is the same but I would like the reassurance in their ads that it WILL work. So I tested it with my apple leather case on my 13 PRO. The magnetic force seems to be similar to using the charging disk, which is good. Keep in mind that the charging disk uses an electromagnet while this one is not electronic. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW This disk won’t stick to any other phones or devices BUT they include a metal ring that can be attached to other devices to make it compatible. I say devices rather than phones because I have big plans to use it with my dashcam and also with my gopro. So much better than suction cups and sticking this little disk to the windshield glass wont attract any suspicious interest when the device is detached. YES OR NO The real story is whether it is strong enough to hold my phone, otherwise it’s worthless. The answer is yes, this thing is worth every penny. ... show more

    • Did Not Stick to 2022 Lexus ES350
Not sure if there’s a special coating or not on the car’s center console to prevent stains, but the adhesive would not stick to my center console. I have a 2022 Lexus ES350. It would stick then fall off when I tried to pull the phone away from the magnet. I have an iPhone 14 pro max.

    • Needed to Modify Existing Car Mount
The media could not be loaded. I have a magnetic car mount that I use on the daily, and after getting a MagSafe phone it no longer was compatible. I ended up getting this, sticking a metal plate on the back which then holds to my magnetic mount. It may not be pretty, but this does the job every time I hop in my car. 10/10 would recommend ... show more

This magnet is great if you have a Magsafe phone/case. I just bought one to stick on my kitchen cabinets so I can mount the phone while cooking or doing dishes. I completely messed up the installation as there was no instruction, at all. But I ended up figuring out how to use it so I’ll explain here in the hopes that people find that useful. So when you open it up there’s the magnet mount but there’s also a silver metal ring strip with an adhesive on it. I thought I was supposed to stick it on the mount. DONT DO THAT. ITS A PITA TO FIX. what that metal ring is for if you want to use something other than an iPhone with this mount, you can stick the metal ring on whatever you’d want to mount and the magnet sticks to the metal ring and you can mount anything that way (well anything reasonably heavy) The mount is straightforward. You just take the double sided sticker and stick it wherever you want your phone mounted. I installed it in the shower/bath, I’m sure other people have better ideas All in all, great value for money. ... show more

The magnet is strong, I love it. I prefer the magnet over anything else, my phone always seems to fall of if I go over a bump, but my phone does not move with this magnet.
