    • Ultra quiet, simple to assemble and maintain, and my cat loves it

The media could not be loaded. This is our second fountain from this company. Our cat Owen loves this type of fountain, because it simulates a running faucet, so we bought another one for our summer camp. The motor is whisper quiet. You cannot hear the motor if you are more than a few feet away from the fountain. Assembly was very simple, and maintenance and cleaning are equally straightforward. Our cat drinks from the "faucet" portion about 50% of the time, and from the "pool" portion the other 50% of the time. As a neutered male cat, Owen is predisposed to urinary blockages (he's on a prescription diet), so drinking plenty of water is critically important for his health. This fountain helps to achieve that goal. The only caveat I can think of with this fountain (and any fountain that utilizes a top pool that empties into a bottom basin) is that in the event of a power outage, the "pool" part of the fountain will drain into the basin, and no water will be pumped back into the pool. This would only be an issue if we were leaving our cat alone for an extended period of time. In that case, we also leave our toilet seats up, as he enjoys drinking out of the toilets now and then (cats are strange creatures), and we would also leave a water bowl out for him. The extra nice thing about this fountain, as compared to the previous one, is that it has a window for observing the water level. This is a helpful improvement to the design, and should guarantee the longevity of the pump because there is less of a chance that the water in the basin will drop below the minimum level. As the instructions state, the pump can be damaged if the water drops below the minimum level. So, having a visual cue for water level is a wonderful feature. The water filters seem to do their job, because the water is always sparkling clear even after a week of circulating the same water. I have not used a water test kit, so I cannot provide any scientific details on water quality - just visual observation. I do fill the fountain using water from our Brita filter, so the water has already been pre-filtered. All I can say is that after about a week of water flowing through the fountain, it looks just as clear and clean as it did when I filled it. Overall, we have been very pleased with this fountain since we purchased it. More importantly, Owen is using it and drinking plenty of water. That's the true test of a happy customer. ... show more

We have four felines that rule our house and demand a water fountain to obtain their water. I had a flower BPA free water fountain, but the water did not stay as clean as we all would have liked. In the summer time the water got room temperature and no cooler. My babies demand cold water in summer and more room temperature in cooler months. The previous fountain we had got dirty faster and I think the water just did not taste good going through the filtration system of the flower fountain. I searched for something better, because my kids took turns at the sink. When my kids would no longer drink the flower fountain water, I was frantically looking for a substitute that was going to work for the long haul. I found this super cool, quiet , stainless steel of German made quality. I snapped it right up and it was on sale. I bought two and will be buying another one. My kids love it. the water is cold and you can put ice in this water fountain. I love you can see when to fill it with more water. The previous one I had to check or when I heard the weird sound I knew t was time to add more water. I love the filtration system on this stainless steel fountain it really does keep hair and debris out of the water. The water is always flowing and clean. My kids line up for water. We have a cat, a small dog, and limited apartment space, so it makes sense for us to only have one water fountain. Fortunately, they don't mind sharing! Due to having multiple animals sharing a water fountain, we wanted one big enough to hold enough water for them for at least a couple of days before refilling but not too big to where it's uncomfortable for them. This one was the perfect size and we've only needed to add water about once a week. The filter seems to do a good job of catching any debris or stray hairs. Assembling and disassembling is very easy. I like that the pump isn't attached to the bowl (unlike most water fountains we used) but instead to the top/"lid" part - I find it easier to clean this way. The filter cartridge is easy to swap out, too. The light/window is a good indicator to tell how much water is left - another good indicator is that the fountain will make some noise - that's the ONLY time it makes sound is when the water is low. The rest of the time when there is enough water...it is perfectly quiet, can't even tell it's there! The stainless steel helps the water stay nice and cold. I know our pets will especially love that during warmer days. If you need a long cord from the plug, there is a very generous amount of wire - we kept ours bundled since it is a short distance. We are very happy with our purchase of this fountain. I love that the pump also has a 2-year warranty in case anything happens to it. ... show more

Overall this is a great fountain. It is extremely quiet which is a big plus! Also because of the blue light in the window, it's easy to see the water level (when it's dark enough). I took a star off only because it's not particularly easy to clean. When it's disconnected, the whole thing has to be moved to the sink. Then, the top with the filter, etc. comes off and you can clean and refill the tank. You just can't easily add more water. Other than that, the cats like it. We like it. ... show more

This is by far the best cat fountain we've had. I've tried a few others, but this one beats them hands down. It's very easy to assemble and fits together perfectly. It's soooo quiet you can't hear it unless you put your ear next to it. It looks great and the sight window really helps to keep it full. I love the dual filters also.
