The set up was fast and easy for one person to do- so is disassembly and clean up is as easy as taking the dirty section outside or place in bathtub and hose off! No need to take the whole thing apart (unless you want to!). Easy to disinfect since there are no hidden corners or crevices. Easy to store since it comes apart in small sections. Heavy duty / built to last BUT very light weight! Love the heavy duty pig rail and the fact that it is easily removable, easy to clean, easy to take apart to store. The added "fitted" protective sheet is awesome! I wasn't expecting that! And the padded liquid resistant whelping pad is awesome and easy to launder. I do have a couple of suggestions for the company though. Please consider the following: 1- end caps top and bottom for the connectors rubberized or plastic as long as they are sturdy and easy to get on/off for people but not pets! 2- accessories such as heat lamp poles that fit into the connectors; height extenders made of panels of welded wire that fit into the connectors for keeping momma and later- babies in the whelping box so that we don't have to monkey with pens surrounding the box. This whelping box is incredible. I have looked at it for years and even built my own out of scrap wood to save money. However, this is a terrific pen and I love the mat and pad that are included. It is easy to assemble and seems really durable. I’m excited that it will be easy to clean and store. The design is well thought out. I use this for my toy Aussies. They are about 10-14” tall at the shoulders and about 15#. This is roomy for them. The females are able to jump out but they are very agile. I am waiting for a litter of pups in a week or so before I know how the pups do in it. I will update. ... show more

First off, I had bought a cheaper whelping box, last minute I returned that one and bought this one. I am so beyond happy I made that choice. I have been planning a litter for 3 years, I wanted to make sure I could clean, and easily put together a whelping area. This box was so easy to assemble that it took longer to inbox than putting it together. Each section can be taken out and cleaned individually. The pig rails are also extremely easy to clean! I cannot recommend this enough. Whether you are in it for the long haul, or you want it for a short term reason. This is definitely the best choice hands down. I have a hard time getting around, so I needed something simple to put together, and take apart. This box has not disappointed. It's not only easy to assemble, but it's extremely high quality. I wouldn't get any other box again, if I ever even had to again. This box also will help you look far more professional to your clients, if you are adopting out. It also allows your girl to exit and enter whenever she likes. The door is tall enough so no one can get out but her. Our girl likes to get lots of love and attention, so it's important she can get some alone time at any time from her puppies. We have a German Shepherd rescue and needed a second whelping box rather quickly and unexpectedly for a pregnant husky. No knowing what to expect, i was extraordinary delighted at the quality of the materials and also the ease of installation. The 4 x 4 is perfect for a medium dog. I do think it would be small for s larger dog such as a gsd once the pups reach 3 weeks. The pig rails are super easy to take in and out. The only negative … the black pads are NOT made for the 4x4 box. Only the Grey pads are. The black do work if under the pig rails but they are too small to use without. I would like a way to hang a water bucket from the corner, but otherwise I love this set up. I ordered the add on room directly from the manufacturer as well as the grey pads. ... show more
