I’ve used pellets to burn in it and I’ve had it burning for about 2 hours as long as you keep adding pellets. It does seem to blow out sometimes if the wind picks up but if lights right back up by just adding more flame from a lighter. This is so much better than the original mesa which is too small

And I use it a lot for like marshmallows s’mores you want your kids to if your kids want to do marshmallows and you don’t heat up the big fire pit this is a quick and nice and if you use woodchip pieces, it works very well and the noises so good it Weight And it’s lighting and which is good so I recommend it if you are not like a big barbecuing with a big fire pit ... show more

Great addition to our outdoor space. Our kids really enjoy making smores and this makes it simple to do that. Easy to get the fire started and burns for just the right amount of time to send ambiance for dinner and then allow for smores to be made. I burn premium hardwood pellets in the stove which works out great. Easy to clean as it is extremely efficient and leaves very little ash. The Solo Stove Mesa XL Tabletop Fire Pit is a great little fire pit for anyone looking for a convenient and portable way to enjoy a small campfire. It's lightweight and compact, making it easy to move around my patio or the camper and stores away when not in use. Setting up and lighting the fire was a breeze, and the included stand keeps the fire pit stable. It put off a surprising amount of heat. I mostly used wood because it was easier to find than pellets, but both fuels seemed to burn equally clean. Clean up was a breeze - there was just a spoonful of ash left after the fire died down. I’ve been curious about the solo stove fire places for a while. Came across this little bugger recently and had to try it out. I have always loved having fires on my deck but the larger fire rings have always seemed a little sketchy. With this little guy, you get the ambiance, entertainment factor, and marshmallow cooking ability of a larger fire pit but in a safer little package. Kinda crazy you can travel around with a little fire pit like this in your backpack too! I have only used this with regular wood, haven’t tried pellets yet. I have a bunch of dried oak that I split up into like 4-6 inch small chunks and they burn awesome. I feel the design of the solo stoves gives the fire a really good intake on the bottom which gets the fire going fast and keeps it going. Anyways, I could go more in depth I don’t want to ramble on. Overall I would definitely recommend this little thing, awesome for a tabletop fireplace. The Mesa is small so you could go with the slightly larger Mesa if you want a little more heat. I recently ordered the heat deflector for it to try out as well, so that is an option if you’re looking for more warmth. Hope this helped! ... show more
