This little thing does a good job at burning things like dry brush or very small kindling and creating a cozy space of warmth around it. Like others have mentioned, it is not quite smokeless but it does a good job at reducing the smoke it outputs. Unfortunately it cannot be used indoors due to this, however it is great for a small outside gathering or on a porch. It doesn't warm up a large area but it is great for huddling around, I could see it being used very well for something like camping. The build quality of the fire pit is nice and it comes with instructions for how to get the most out of it. It's fun to set up and use! My wife has had her eye on a tabletop fire pit like this for a while now. I already own a much larger version from a competitor in my backyard. However, this smaller variant is perfect for those times when the large fire pit feels like overkill. It performs similarly to its larger counterpart, offering just enough heat to roast some marshmallows or hot dogs. Due to its size, it's more about creating ambiance than generating substantial warmth, though it does provide some. Additionally, while it may be possible to hang a Dutch oven or other cookware above it using a fire pit tripod, it's worth noting that this isn't explicitly designed for cooking and might not adequately support cookware if placed directly on top. The construction and finish quality seem well-suited for the purpose. I initially found the perforated metal cup confusing, much like others have reported. After reviewing versions from other manufacturers, it became apparent that the cup should be placed open-end down over the raised area in the middle of the burn chamber. This setup enhances airflow when using pellets, wood, or charcoal, resulting in a hotter, cleaner burn. This mini smokeless fire pit is PERFECT for smores!!! I typically use small pieces of wood and kindling and because this is smokeless you can use it indoors or outdoors as long as you have proper ventilation. Once everything is burned up and cooled, it is to empty the contents. You can cook marshmallows and even hot dogs on a stick. Even kids can use it of course under adult supervision! ... show more

TLDR; nice small pit, still smokes, but less than a "regular" fire. Great for roasting marshmallows. More - I do have a larger / full size smokeless firepit that I liked, so I was excited to see these small versions. First impressions - nicely built, the carry bag is nice, but no real instructions. It does have a page of warnings, but the instructions are very minimal. Also, the instructions don't mention using pellets, only wood and charcoal. Also, no mention of the extra dome, that I presume is supposed to be used with pellets. For my testing, I used wood / sticks (Pecan, mostly) and pellets - both hardwood and pine. I also used Fatwood as a starter. As far as the "smokeless" part of the pit, it does sort of work, in that it has a secondary combustion fire layer like the big pits, but it does not get to the same level of clean burning as a big pit. I suspect that the small pit simply can't provide enough oxygen through the rings to burn clean. It does reduce the smoke amount by a lot, though. With the pellets, it seemed to make less smoke than with sticks, so if you want low smoke, a good hardwood pellet is the way to go. I did try both hardwood pellets (made for pellet grills) and pine pellets (sold as kitty litter, 100% wood, no fillers, supposedly) The pine pellets are easier to light, but burn off quick. It does not light as easy or burn as energetically as fat wood, but it is still pine, so it burns hot and fast. The hardwood blend pellets (RecTeq brand) are harder to start, and make a smaller flame height. Also, they will make a better bed of coals, if you are looking for roasting marshmallows. (I would not recommend cooking over any pine) As mentioned before, the pit instructions did not address the small dome adaptor that I believe is to be used with pellets. I did try the pit with pellets with and without the dome, and I did not see a big difference in the burn. Perhaps with more experience, I will see more of a difference. Overall, I like it. Instructions are the only issue. 4 stars. ... show more
