So this is not my first smart lock for my home. The first one is on my front door and this one is for the workshop. It has all the same features and cons that the first one had so it fit my expectations without issue. My husband will have issues with his fingerprint not scanning properly (it's just him though so I'm sure it's user error) but the numbers are much easier to use for him than on our previous one so it doesn't annoy him as much. That said you do need a gateway (an additional cost) to make it work with an assistant. The gateway has to be fairly close as well, so if your home has a lot of square footage, that might be an issue for you. Overall, I really like being able to save my own prints and my husbands in the app and get in without having to find my keys first. I also like that I can put my mom in the app or assign her a pin number to use to get in when she visits so she doesn't have to wait in her car for me to get home. I think locks like these are actually optimal for air-bnbs since you can change the pin number whenever you want on the app and never have to worry about someone losing a key. You can even set the pin to expire at a certain date and time. I've suggested to a friend of mine who has an air bnb to look into these smart locks as a potential help for her business. ... show more

I am very tech savvy, and did not have too much trouble setting all of the features up for this door lock. All of the info you need is included and pretty well packaged. I added fingerprints, tested the cards, tested the physical keys, and added multiple pins (one for my wife and I, one for guests). The one thing that will not work for some reason is unlocking the door with the app (standing right beside it, so proximity is not the issue). I know the phone is still connected to it, because it still allows me to add fingerprints, pins, or make any changes to the lock through the app. It is very solid and the build quality is very good for the price. Obviously, some of these smart locks are not the most secure things out there, so I personally also like to use an old-school deadbolt lock or other locking devices when I am home. ... show more

    • Love this lock, but wish it worked with Alexa out of the box

This would be my 5 star dream device if it worked with Alexa out of the box and didn't need me to get the gateway device. Aside from that this is nearly a perfect door lock. The key fobs work great, the fingerprint reader works almost first try every time and Bluetooth works flawlessly so far. I can unlock via the app if I'm connected to Bluetooth as well and if all else fails there is the physical key. If I didn't need the gateway to pair this with Alexa then this would be my perfect dream lock. Still, even so it's pretty awesome and I'm seriously tempted to get the gateway and make it perfect. 8/10 I would recommend it. I hope this review is helpful. ... show more

I really wanted to use this door lock, however, you have to drill a hole in the door to make it fit. I didn’t want to ruin my door for this. But I put batteries in it and used the app and everything was really nice.

The media could not be loaded. This keyless entry lock is pretty dang cool! Pros: - pretty easy to install (it took my husband (who is quite handy) about an hour or so because he had to drill some new holes in our door) - it's sleek and cool looking - it talks! - you can use your fingerprint, a passcode, a key card (included), or an actual key to gain entry - you can add family members and non-family members in the app to manage who is able to gain entry - it locks automatically after a few seconds, so there's no chance of forgetting to lock the door - the app shows details about entries and exits, so you can keep tabs on things - so far it has done a great job! Cons: - the app could use some upgrading - if it loses Bluetooth connection, it won't work at all (you will have to use the physical key provided) - it does not pair nicely with Amazon's Alexa (yet) Overall, I think this lock is really cool and I recommend it! ... show more

This is the second fingerprint lock I bought. It doesn't work as well as the previous one. It is easy to install and its automatic locking function is great. You don't need to lock it. Its fingerprint recognition is not sensitive enough, and sometimes you need to recognize it many times.

My main motivation for getting the Proscenic Keyless Entry Door Lock was that I did not want to have to deal with door keys, especially for my two boys. This door lock solves the problem perfectly. I now never worry about one of my boys losing or forgetting their door key. The lock installed easily in my garage entrance door. It was easy to add the finger prints and also backup entry codes for each of the 4 members of the household. The fingerprint reader is convenient and is what is used the majority of the time. Occasionally, there has been an issue reading the finger print, mostly when hands are extremely dirty and/or it is very cold outside, but the entry codes are great backup that means no one is locked out for more than a few seconds. The black color looks nice, but a option for white would be nice to match the color of our door. Overall, I am happy to recommend the Proscenic Keyless Entry Door Lock to family and friends. ... show more

Technology has evolved to the point where these smart locks are fully reliable, offer multiple options including the traditional metal key. But if you like having other options that don't require digging around for the right key when your hands are full, or you need to make your place available to someone while you're away, this is the way to go. Fully documented installation instructions such that if you can replace a conventional door set (simple mechanical skills) and understand WiFi connectivity, you can install this. Keys and pass cards included and the internals are always accessible from inside, as the interior side cover pops off. This is usually where the master password is held.
