I purchased this for the pump house to keep the pump and pipes from freezing. I’ve needed it a couple times in the mean while and it’s quite convenient. You have a three position heat power switch with; Fan only, 1300 watts, & a 1500 watts selection. It has a rheostat type temp knob, and tip safety shutoff that trips when the unit leans to about 15°-20°. The housing is metal and the heavy gauge cord is grounded. The only assembly required was installing the top handle. The two screws were already installed into the top of the unit. They just had to be backed out and then reinstalled with the handle in place. ... show more

This is not a powerful utility heat. It blows air weakly no matter what setting it's on. Not powerful arty all not to mention difficult to turn on and off. I will say it's not noisy but that's due to the weak fan.

They work wonderfully for a few months then the fan becomes so loud that you can't be in the same room. Disappointed because the replacement is more expensive. The media could not be loaded. You would think that I would not need a heater at the end of summer, but my basement is freezing constantly. I bought smaller heaters and it’s just too much space to warm up. This one actually looks like one of the name brands literally looks like a cookie cutter design but it’s just half the price and works just as well. It puts out quite a bit of heat and has multiple levels. I wouldn’t say it’s beautiful, but it’s an attractive design. It’s not too noisy at all. I can work without interruption. One thing I can say having bought a unit that is made in the US and name brand. This one is much quieter. The heat is much hotter as well. I have to say I am a little surprised. Definitely will purchase this same brand again in the future ... show more
