    • Powerful little hairdryer which protects against heat damage
I'm loving this thing because the lowest heat and power settings work fabulously for me, it's quiet, dries my hair pretty quickly, and makes my hair look very good. It gets to be medium loud on the middle setting, which I find almost too windy. Then the highest wind speed setting is very loud and like a windstorm, but it would be excellent for rapid hair drying. I really like the 3 heat settings too (there's four if you count the cold setting.) I appreciate knowing that this hair dryer will never get hot enough to hurt my hair, but honestly, I think that the lowest heat setting is great at just a bit hotter than warm. My favorite part of this hairdryer though is the setting for drying the last 20% of my hair with the IQ ability to protect my roots and scalp. This is what makes the very expensive price worthwhile for me as someone with a lot of damage and hair loss. So far I've only tried a couple of the handy attachments and they come on and off easily. While everyone else seems to love the diffuser, I find it a little too big and awkward and it just seems to be in the way. The attachment that focuses air in one direction for straightening did a great job on making my hair look nice, although that does take longer to dry my hair. I really like that this hair dryer is small and compact when folded up, which is how I'm enjoying keeping it stored. It took me a minute to figure out how to fold it up, but it's easy now that I know it's not a button to press and that you just pull down on the top. While the small size would fit great in even a small suitcase, it's just a little to heavy for me to want to travel with it.     • Lots of power, lightweight
This is a very nice dryer, but I'm not sure if it's nice enough to justify the price. I appreciate that it protects my scalp from burning--that is a big draw for me and may justify the price, but I'll need to use it longer to decide that for sure. The high air setting is SUPER strong--too strong for me, as I ended up tangling my hair into a couple of small knots that I had to cut out because I went in both directions with one section of hair (up and down) on high, and it has so much power that it tangled my hair! I learned to use the medium setting unless I'm only going in one direction (I should say I have fine, tangle-prone hair, so YMMV). The hot is really hot, but I usually use medium on any dryer, and that works for me on this one as well. The power is there, though--no complaints about that. The diffuser works well. I do like the fact that you can press it closer to your scalp because of the retractable spikey things, but I can't say it made a big difference to me. The touch-up brush tangled in my hair and I didn't find it very useful--it feels awkward, no matter which direction I turn it or how much I practice with it. The polisher thing, though, is MAGIC. I don't know how it works, but MAN it kills flyaways and gives me the smoothest blowout like nothing I've ever seen. Whatever voodoo Shark does that makes that tool work is fully worth it. Even when I just rough-dry and curl or flat iron my hair, I run that tool over it a few passes and my hair looks pro-smooth. It's fantastic! I think I should've gotten the attachment that is like a round brush instead of the touch up tool, and I'm going to order it as soon as I can find one that fits this dryer (the ones here on Amazon that I've found so far are for the older model of dryer). The buttons are a little hard to adjust while you're using it until you get used to the feel and location. I love the light weight of the dryer, but it's loud on high (I find it louder than my Rusk dryer) and I don't love traveling with it because the cord is REALLY heavy with the box in the middle of it (I think it's a fuse for safety, maybe?). I travel a lot so I had hoped this would replace my fold-up dryer that has very low power, but the cord weight and size doesn't make this a practical option even though the dryer itself is very lightweight (my arm, at least, appreciates that). I can't decide whether this is worth the price to you. I think, personally, it's a lot better dryer than the Dyson (I've used both), but I like the Dyson tools better...except for that flyaway smoother thing you get here, which is phenomenal. I certainly wouldn't regret the cost of this, but if I were choosing between it and the Dyson (2 high-end dryers), I can't say there's a clear winner.     • Quite Pricey, but wait...
The small stature of this hairdryer is quite impressive for the power it puts out. It is uniquely designed to be non-damaging. I have very fine, straight hair and the ends tend to frizz over time, regardless of products or the type of brush or dryer I use. What impressed me most was the silky smoothness of the finished product. Seriously. I have never paid $229 for a hair dryer. $150? yes. Believe it or not, the functionality and bells and whistles of the Shark SpeedStyle Pro Flex Professional are 100% worth that price. ... show more

    • portable and powerful hair dryer system
This is a powerful hair dryer system that rivals the power of a Dyson at a slightly more affordable cost. I say slightly because this dryer is still costly, but I think it delivers superior results than your standard dryer making it worth the cost. First of all, I absolutely love that it folds down in size, making it portable and reducing its footprint in the prime real estate that is my under the sink space. There are 3 heat settings, 3 speeds, cool air, and an IQ setting that protect your scalp from damage. This comes with 4 attachments for smoothing and styling. I absolutely love this diffuser of any diffuser I have ever used. It distributes heat well yet still concentrates heat towards the hair. Some diffusers seem to block the heat and power of the hair dryer which significantly increases drying time, but not this one! The frizzfighter finishing tool is a stroke of genius and works wonderfully at smoothing down the frizzies. The instruction booklet is very detailed in helping learn how to use the various attachments. I love this hair dryer, but if I had to find a negative, it’s that it’s a bit loud. I also do prefer attachments that affix with magnets, but I knew this one didn’t have that feature so it’s not a knock on this product but just a personal preference. The attachments are easy to take on and off and stay securely attached when in use. I definitely recommend this dryer and believe it delivers results worth the asking price. ... show more
