  • Dries thick hair fast!
Style: Straight & Wavy Hair Color: Silk
I have very coarse, thick and wavy hair. I have purchased other hairdryers with brush attachment that were okay but I still had to stand for many minutes to get the tresses dry enough to style. When my last one broke I was on the hunt for the best affordable appliance possible. Well, I found it and the price was worth it. The Shark hairdryer is light weight but powerful and leaves my hair straight, shiny and soft. The attachments are easy to put on and take off. They are hot after use but when I turn on the cold air they cool down very quickly and can be removed easily. A great purchase! ... show more

  • Pro Hairstylist review
Style: Straight & Wavy Hair Color: Silk
I was rather skeptical and waited for a couple of years to purchase one of these products. I've been very skeptical of Dyson and will not spend what Dyson is asking $$$ In an industry where I can get my hands on many or most of the best products and equipment available on the market at wholesale. The blow drawers I typically purchase are at this price point. , but paying retail for one is frankly annoying. But I did. I received it yesterday and used it this morning as I was due for my biweekly blowdry, which usually takes me about twenty minutes for my hair to look like a giant literal tumbleweed just after. I've always had confused hair. And i'm fifty and my hair is processed blonde. I have 80% Gray at my hairline and 25% the rest. It's long. It's layered. It requires heat to look good. Review: I was honestly blown away by this little blow dryer. It felt great in my hands and the weight of it was surprisingly light. Professional dryers have some meat to them in terms of weight and they last us years. Anyone concerned about the weight of this blowdryer, for its manageable size, is frankly just being petty in my opinion. Very packable for travel and the high-speed, high heat is actually more than I need for my unruly hair. I felt that the medium in both was great. Dried my hair quickly, for sure, to the eighty five percent... I teach my clients to dry their hair to 85% in my salon, to avoid tiring their arms out, for a round brush finish. I'm glad that shark is instructing the same. There were labels on most of the pieces with QR codes for instructions online that I would assume are very, very helpful to customers. But the attachments were mind blowing, mind bending. The attached brush and the shine attachment where both shocking in their results. I'm not sure how they pulled it off. My hair certainly isn't finished for the day and I will still additionally curl it..... sidenote: I'm waiting for the flexstyle set in the mail so I can try the entire other system for curl..... but my hair is the smoothest I've ever seen with a blowdry in preparation for a very easy and very quick curling iron finish or flat iron. I'm frankly very excited about the flex style coming with my results from this set up. The power and fan and heat settings are thoughtfully located at the lower part of the handle to avoid accidentally presses... And the cool shot is very conveniently located at the inner bend where you can access it during your full blowdry. Please use the cool shot because your results will be 80% better. As well, I was very pleased at the angles that the attachments are thoughtfully positioned- Particularly the brush attachment at the angle's needed to pull and stretch the hair easily. The bristles on the brush were soft enough that they resembled a round brush. I was worried it would be too stiff and useless. I definitely will bother packing this for travel with the brush attachment. I probably would leave the gloss attachment at home. Because the brush does plenty to prep me for curling iron easily. Someone with lovely straight hair would really enjoy the gloss attachment the results. Always use thermal protection despite the fact that it says no damage. The heat and the fan on the highest setting blows the hair too much in my opinion, and might be too hot for anyone without coarse hair. But for those persons with very coarse hair, I feel this blow dryer will work well for you. Not sure how long it will last or how long the brush bristles will hold up, but i'm hopeful. ... show more

  • Versatile, powerful, quiet
Style: Straight & Wavy Hair Color: Silk
I have been on the hunt for a hair dryer that would dry my hair quickly and quietly. Being lightweight and having attachable styling tools were also important. I stupidly tried two less costly brands/models before buying this Shark hair dryer. I wasted my money on those products. This dryer exceeded my expectations. I’ve cut down on my drying time, the dryer is light and quiet, and I’m enjoying playing around with the different attachments. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Do not hesitate to buy this Shark model especially given Amazon’s amazing return policy. ... show more

  • Great Dryer, but the Brush Could Be Better
Style: Straight & Wavy Hair Color: Silk
xI’ve been using the Shark Hair Dryer SpeedStyle, and overall, I’m really happy with it. The dryer is powerful and dries my hair quickly without leaving it frizzy. I love the RapidGloss feature, which leaves my hair shiny and smooth after each use. It’s lightweight and easy to handle, which makes styling a breeze. The only thing that keeps it from being a 5-star product for me is the brush attachment. While it does work, I wish it were a bit more effective in smoothing and detangling my hair. Other than that, it’s a fantastic tool, and I’m glad I purchased it! Would definitely recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a fast and reliable hair dryer. ... show more

  • Excellent in every way...
Style: Straight & Wavy Hair Color: Silk
I tried this one and the Dyson. I liked the Sharp better and returned the Dyson. The Sharp is smaller, has crazy power and blow drying ability. I know this isn't that important, but the Sharp has a loop to hang it and the Dyson doesn't. The Sharp seemed to style my hair better and gave it some volume. The Dyson dried a bit faster, but it was minimal. Don't get me wrong, the Dyson is a beauty of a hairdryer, but the Sharp worked much better for me. I have short hair and didn't need all the attachments that came with the Dyson. The Sharp came with only three, but I don't think I will be using them. Long hair gals, might prefer the Dyson due to the attachments, but the Sharp does all that I need and it felt better in my hand. They both seemed to weight about the same so that wasn't a factor. The Sharp is definitely a less expensive dryer, but they both were on sale when I bought them. I think the Dyson has come down in price to where it is reasonable, but the Sharp was about half of that. ... show more
