  • The best hairdryer ever
The best hairdryer ever !!!!

  • Comfortable to use
I don't have super wavy hair, but I love using the diffuser to bring out a little more of my waves without any frizz! It's super easy to use (actually much lighter than I expected) and dries my hair quickly. I do recommend spending some time on this page to read about it because I didn't find much useful info in the box itself and was a little confused at first what the smart features were. Basically, it changes the airflow/heat based on what attachment you're using (it can sense which one is magnetically attached) and lowers the temp when the dryer is close to your scalp (optional setting). I do appreciate not having to think about which settings I should use when swapping attachments, but overall didn't end up using most attachments or features. If you have a more complicated hairstyle or hair type, I think it would probably be more worth the money. For me, it felt a little over-designed but still very easy to use. ... show more

  • Hello Glossy Hair !
Edit 5/14/24 My photo order was changed however, it should be clear which photo was the glossy blowout. I am still happy with this dryer after 3 weeks of use, especially the various nozzles, and the scalp protection mode. As someone who has long struggled with dry, frizzy hair, I am so impressed with the Dyson Nural Supersonic Dryer, especially useful in Florida’s humid climate. I have seen dramatically less frizz from the first time I used it. For me, using the attachments has been critical as without them, it is difficult for me to manage the powerful airflow. For smooth hair, I have used the gentle or concentrator nozzle. When I add the flyaway attachment to the end of my drying routine along with a little hairspray, I get a truly glossy look. Never, ever, have I said the word glossy when referring to my hair until using the Dyson Nural. The Dyson two-part diffuser is particularly innovative. With the two pieces together, you get a more traditional diffuser dry. With the dome alone, your hair turns into lustrous, bouncy ringlets. I have no idea how this attachment changes the look of the curl so much, but it does and I love it, although it does reduce hair length. The comb attachment, which aims to elongate curls, requires some practice, but Dyson’s online tutorials provide valuable styling and use guidance. A key feature of this dryer is its scalp-protection mode, which automatically adjusts heat lower when close to the scalp, preventing damage to both the scalp and hair, and promoting healthier hair. The Dyson dries quickly but doesn’t leave my hair feeling parched or brittle. Instead, I have a little bounce. Not only did my hair dryer get an upgrade; my hair did, too! Additionally, this dryer memorizes settings used with certain nozzles. It includes a quiet mode that keeps the dryer running, but on low when set down, helping keep the tempo going in the drying process. And… I like to surround myself with useful and beautiful things and the colors of this dryer are beautiful. I am more than pleased with this new dryer but there are a couple things I would change. The dryer itself is a good weight, but the cord is heavy and long, making storage challenging. A quick and easy fix would be to include a hook and loop closure strip to tame the cord. I would like to see a dedicated and fitted storage case for the Dyson Nural and its attachments and hope that will be coming soon to the Dyson site. A dual voltage option would make this perfect for international travel although it is unclear to me if dual voltage is feasible with this type of dryer. Dyson managed to securely pack this dryer and its attachments in a fitted box made only of paper/cardboard. NO plastic. Yeah! The first hair photo is my natural hair, dried with my previous dryer, no product or brushes, just finger combing. The second hair photo is using the concentrator (mostly on the lowest heat) with a large round brush, and then finishing for about 10 seconds with the flyaway attachment. (Brides, that will give you the hair you want for photos!) Next time I wash my hair, I’ll add a photo of my hair using the dome component of the diffuser attachment so you can see both the blow-out finish, and the curly finish. While this Dyson Nural Supersonic hair dryer is an investment, I wish I had found it years ago (Oops, it wasn’t being made!) to help me tame the frizz and lead me down the path to healthy hair. If in you can work this into your budget, you might find the Dyson Supersonic Nural to be the right dryer for you, too. And if you have managed to read this far, silky smooth tresses to you! ... show more

  • The most intelligent hair dryer I’ve experienced!
I was excited for the opportunity to obtain this hair dryer for my wife. She currently uses a similar form factor Yinole high-speed hair dryer. I will start out by saying that visually, this is an appealing product. Bright colors, exposed circuitry, colorful LEDs. It looks neat! Of course that doesn’t mean much for drying your hair, but in typical Dyson fashion, you can tell that lots of attention has been paid to the design of this product. I’ve always been a fan of Dyson products, and we love our Dyson vacuum, so we jumped at the opportunity to test this hair dryer. When simply comparing the amount of air expelled, the Yinole does actually blow a little harder. But that isn’t the whole picture. The Dyson is intelligent, and adjusts the air speed and temperature in certain situations. For example, when bringing the dryer closer to the scalp, the dryer reduces temperature to keep you from burning your scalp. And when sit the dryer down for a second, it both reduces temperature and airflow. The LEDs make it easy to tell the current temperature, too. The cold shot feature works great, delivering cool air almost instantly. The attachments are excellent, easy to use, too. The Dyson automatically detects which attachment is in use so that you don’t have to change settings manually. If you are someone who typically uses multiple dryer attachments, this will be great for you. However, it is not all great. The Dyson is pretty heavy. Most of that weight comes from the heavy power cord that includes an inline power brick of some sort. My wife’s existing dryer is much lighter. It was one of the first things she called out when comparing the two. And finally, let’s talk about the price. Dyson has always commanded a premium for their expertly designed products. With their vacuums, I think it is mostly warranted. Their vacuums are without a doubt some of the best in the industry. However, in this case, I’m not sure that the Dyson is worth 5x or more than my wife’s current dryer. Sure, it has way more intelligence, but how much you need that intelligence will ultimately dictate if the premium price is worth it to you. For us, the Dyson is now my wife’s daily dryer. The Yinole has been passed down to my daughter. While the Dyson is heavier, the premium features make it worth it. ... show more

  • Blazing hot, too hot
I sold the original Dyson because it was so dang hot. I was hoping this one would be different. I turned it on to see how hot it was, with a laser temp gage. "cold" is 94 which is the only setting that won't fry your hair. Low is 169 to 180, med is 200-240 and high is up to 300. It touched my leg after it had been off for a few minutes and burned my leg. I'd never let this thing touch my hair. Even with the diffuser on and on low heat, I couldn't keep my hand next to the diffuser. Why would I subject my curls to that. 500 dollars plus tax to fry my hair and scalp? Nope! Got it today, it's going back, already packed up. ... show more
