I have thick, wavy to curly hair. You will be amazed at how easy it is to have the hair go up the tube and come out stick straight. It is heavy when you are drying your hair, but not bad or a deal breaker. I can't see traveling with it easily; perhaps if you are on a road trip but not an airplane. It cuts drying time in half. Your hair is smooth and silky. It does make it stick straight, so if you like volume and some bouncy wave, it won't do that. You can use a curling iron after, but to me, the point is less heat and heat damage. There is some learning curve with this unit. It can make your ends look a bit dry. I called the company and they were extremely helpful and explained some things to do that have now greatly improved my results. I'm definitely getting the hang of it and really love it! ... show more

Follow the instructions closely! Smaller sections give you a more detailed dry closer to your scalp. Also, don't expect your hair to dry quickly if your hair is soaking wet. Remove the extra moisture before drying for best results. I love the fact that I can use the tension feature to stretch out my hair according to my own specifications. My wife and daughter are always using this machine. It’s very strong and works like a charm. They both have curly and kinky hair. After 30 min there hair is straight and relaxed. I am happy they like it.

I bought this because I have natural 4b hair that takes a long time to dry so trying to stretch it can cause damage with a regular blow dryer. My hair could stand another 2 inches to get the most out of the RevAir but here is what I can tell you: PROS 1. It works as described. Straighten or stretch, it works and with less heat. 2. There are helpful instructions that really came in use for hair of different weight and textures so you choose the appropriate settings for the desired outcomes. 3. Yes, it saves time. 4. Reduced breakage CONS 1. It is pricey, but I can see this being the primary drying appliance and may also reduce the need flat ironing for us natural hair ladies. It's an investment appliance. 2. After a couple of years of eyeing this product on YouTube videos, I finally decided to break down and purchase the RevAir to test out on my 6yo who has long, thick, coily/kinky hair. What drew me to this drying device is its ability to quickly dry and stretch the hair at the same time without excessive heat and passes. As my son typically hates wash day due to being tender-headed, I'd been on the hunt and had previously invested money into another dryer that I thought would help ease tension during the drying process (the brush dryer). Needless to say, after receiving and testing the RevAir on my son's hair yesterday, I've officially found our hair-drying device! During yesterday's hair-drying process, my son made not one sound nor flinched. Actually, he commented that he loved this hair dryer and even after I'd finished drying his entire head, he asked if I could do it again. The ReAir was effortless in smoothing and drying his hair while retaining adequate moisture on the lowest heat settings. And because of how easily it smoothed and dried his hair, the styling process was a breeze for me to complete. I frst saw this product on a natural hair blog. Both my daughter and myself have extremely thick 4C hair. I have been hesitant to order because of the very high price. I REGRET BUYING ! Assembling was easy and the instructions were simple. The problems. FIRST- it is extremely loud.. Second - I had to put on highest setting to even get it to attmpt to strectcg my 4c afro hair. THIRD. it only stretched the very ends and would not get or pull at the roots leaving me looking like a bush with strings sticking out. Fourth it is so heavy and Awkward to hold in place at the back of my head. Fifth- I was unable to finish my head because the machine kept over heating and tripping the breakers. It was also very hot to the touch even after I lowered to a level 5. I am going to watch a few more Youtube videos to see if MAYBE I am doing something wrong but most likely I will be sending this thing back. ... show more
