Bought this for my 9 year old who has been begging for one to protect his "valuables" from his big sister and bad guys. Was easy to program and seems to work good, but got only 4 stars for one flaw. The piece that closes and holds the batteries in on the inside of the door pops off very easily when the door is shut. When this happens the battery pops out. Next time you go to open it, nothing. Its dead because battery has popped out. You have to get the key to open it, reinstall the battery, and reprogram the lock (which is real easy). I used electrical tape to help hold the piece on, so hopefully this stops happening. ... show more

I don’t know if this safe was used and repaired or if it was terrible shipping to blame. This was one of three safes ordered from three different sellers. I was looking for different colors/kinds for each of my children. When my daughter opened her gift, the paint around the door was chipped or peeling off, the door itself was not properly aligned and the locks would not retract. We tried using the batteries after trying the keys. You could hear the clicking likes it was trying to go in but the locks hardly moved. The finger space to open turn and open the safe is too small for adult fingers. Another thing I didn’t like was that I had to use a flat hard piece of plastic to pop the key cover off. It snaps back in but that’s too much, you could lose or break the cover like that. I loved the color but knowing it will come off, I think I’ll get her gray but with a different handle. The only good thing is it did come with two keys, hardware, batteries and instructions. The light is a bit dim and is not adjustable. It points straight, not downwards.     • Budget friendly for low risk security needs

I bought this product because I needed a temporary solution to secure some belongings that would be inconvenient to have them go missing, but nothing that would be worthy of the more expensive, heavier safes available. The safe has all the features it mentions and is about the quality you would expect for the price. The casing and interior feel study as well as the locking mechanism. The anchor bolts were included as well as a felt liner for the bottom. I really liked the auto on/off light since most likely safes are stored in dark, hidden spaces. The knob to open the safe feels a little cheap, but for the price I did not put much thought into it since that is cosmetic preference, not a design flaw. My biggest complaint and the reason I ultimately returned the safe is the key system. The key is a generic tumbler/barrel key that is used with other safe brands, so anyone with that type of ket could easily access the contents of the safe. Especially if they are familiar with the hidden keyhole, which doesn't add much security. If the key system used a regular key I would have kept the safe and been satisfied with what I had for the price I paid. ... show more

I bought this safe for my daughter's first safe/piggy bank, The product is well made but it is a Great Value item. There is some flaws to it. After reading several reviews and reading the different problems that consumers have had with this item I decided to give it a chance, because non of the reviews gave it a complete waist of money review. The only thing I have a problem with is the battery cover. It sits right behind the door of the safe, and the cover does not saty on it keeps coming off, making the battery's fall off as well. Luckily there is a key to override the automatic keyless code. But over all the item is a good cheap option for a first 8 year old save ... show more

Minimal money=nice solution. Look, a silly hotel-like safe prevents casual theft. So hiding this little unit, locked, could save you thousands and heartache. I paid $30 for this. Probably not worth $50. Seems to be a good little solution. ALSO: extra bonus points for interior light. Very nice.

the door came in a little crooked but not to an extent that bothers me but might bother others since you have to push the door down each time you want to close it. the inside plastic came cracked. this product is basically a hit or miss.
