Sawgrass Virtuoso systems are the industry’s first and only fully integrated desktop solution designed specifically for sublimation. The perfect printer for hobbyists or moonlighter, the SG500 fits comfortably on a desktop and prints media up to 8.5" x 14". Or expand the max media size to 8.5" x 51" with the bypass tray. The SG500 has been updated inside out from its predecessor, the SG400. The SG500 is backwards-compatible with all SG400 accessories. Like all Sawgrass printers, the SG500 performs its own automatic maintenance cycle for trouble-free printing. The media could not be loaded. I transitioned from a converted Epson printer to the Sawgrass. The ink is more expensive, however, the colors are more true to the image color than my converted printer. The images are crisp, clean, & vivid. I kept both printers until I always chose the Sawgrass over my Epson because I knew the image would be better. My friend now has my old Epson! It was easy to install, there are also videos of you need extra help. I use the Sawgrass print manager which is amazing and automatically flips the images. I love that I can print wireless 🛜! And don't want to jinx it but haven't had to deal with jams. I was extremely disappointed with the starter inks, my alert ⚠️ light lit immediately after all the ink filled the lines. One of my cartridges stayed pretty full so I immediately bought the regular ones for the other 3 colors. If you have the option buy the full size inks! You won't be disappointed. The first install requires a lot of ink to fill the tanks. That's the case only thing I would've done differently (but it was a gift from my husband, so didn't do any research). Anyways, this printer is amazing and I love it! I use it to make gifts and to sell items on my justlovecraftz shop too! ... show more

I love this printer! It is very easy to use and even comes with is own design software. It is a bit pricey but very worth it because of the " virtually maintenance free" features. I would buy again and in have recommended this too others!!

    • THIRD UPDATE: Printer Continues to Disconnect from Network
Third Update: The problem persists. As soon as I updated the PrintMate firmware, the printer failed to connect. It seems I have to submit a ticket to these guys every two months. I can't really say if this is a good printer since it rarely connects to my wireless network. I have other printers that reliably connect, but the only thing reliable about this printer is that it won't work. Second Update: I hate this printer. Everytime my computer (Windows) updates, PrintMate and my computer no longer recognize this printer. Basically, every single time I want to use this thing, I have to reinstall it, restart my computer, and hope the thing shows up. What a monumental PAIN! Update: This is one finicky device. First of all the colors coming out of Photoshop print really hot yellow. This is a printer problem. I've printed the same photos (jpgs) on A Canon Pro-200, a Canon Pro-200, and a Brother SP-1 and the colors all are consistent. I've had to create specific Photoshop adjustment layers for anything I'm trying to print out of the Sawgrass printer. Secondly, we had a brief power outage. Unlike every other printer in the house (six others), only the Sawgrass did not come back online after a less than three second power interruption. I had to reinstall the drivers, restart any computer using the Sawgrass, and then go back into PrintMate and reset everything. I've never encountered such idiosyncracies with a printer. I will say that the Sawgrass people try to be helpful and are responsive, but the color management for this printer and the wi-fi connections are a little behind the eight ball. After putting in BRAND NEW SAWGRASS cartridges for all colors, I'm now getting horizontal banding with this printer. Seriously, I have never had as many problems with a printer as I'm having with this one. Original Review:I was looking forward to this as a replacement for a Brother printer. The product was delivered early, which was fabulous. But Sawgrass keeps telling me I can't login to their PrintMate product (which is necessary to run the thing) and their chat doesn't answer. I have NEVER run into a problem where they tell you to create an account and then after you have, they won't let you login! They want me to verify my email, but haven't sent me the verification email, even after several attempts. Is this typical for Sawgrass? This is very disconcerting and disappointing. I will update this review if they bother to resolve this, but so far...crickets. ... show more

I love this sublimation printer. I purchased it to expand my business. I did a couple of test products using my own dogs as examples on my tumblers and on my tote bags. I'm disappointed that I still can't print on a colored tote bag, but that's okay. Printer was very simple to set up and I was printing within an hour or so of setting it up. I purchased this over a month ago, i have been trying for the last week to be able to print without yellow streaks, unsuccessfully. 30 days past can’t return it and paid so much for it. Easy set up, didn't take too long.

    • The Absolute Worst - BUYER BEWARE
I purchased my Sawgrass SG500 printer June 5th. I did the set up maybe two weeks later. The starter ink ran out within 50-60 prints and maybe 30+ were faded or with streaks. At this point I'm nervous. I get online to order more ink and I see it's $400 for the Sawgrass brand. If the ink runs out that fast there's no way I'm going to have a profitable business like this. I search and search for a compatible ink. It works perfectly, no watermarks as others have mentioned- just perfect prints. I go to print and it jams (Aug 11). I look at the screen and it's the SC933 code which is a fatal code and one in which I will have to replace my printer. I contact Sawgrass and they have me take pics of my serial number, my cartridge, my screen. All just to tell me I'm screwed and that they can only give me free ink when I order a new printer. Sawgrass sucks and I hope they change or just get out of the business of printers all together. Less than two months, $600+ gone, wasted. Sawgrass is trash at best. I wish I could give a negative 0 star. Please DO NOT 🚫 PURCHASE THIS PRINTER UNLESS YOU CAN AFFORD THE HEARTACHE, THE HIGH COST OF INK AND THE CONSTANT MAINTENANCE ON THIS PRINTER. ... show more

    • Just unboxed and already has low ink without printing anything!!!
I literally just installed this printer, and I was only able to print the test page due to the low ink alert! This is crazy!!! This means the cartridges were empty or with very little ink. So disappointed, $600 for the printer starter kit and now i have to spend $40 more for ink without even using the printer. Bad Business!!! ... show more
