Description

"Is my baby in heaven?"This is the most important question a grieving parent can ask. And even if the little one is someone else's child, the issue remains: What happens to children?those unborn, stillborn, or youngsters?when they die? Can you hope to see them again? Can you let go of your fear and guilt? Can God's love soothe a wound so jagged? With scriptural authority and the warmth of a pastor's heart, bestselling author John MacArthur examines the breadth of the entire Bible and reveals in this compelling book the Heavenly Father's care for every life."I have sat by the grave of our daughter and son and wondered out loud if my belief that Hope and Gabriel are in heaven has any solid scriptural support. John MacArthur offers truth from God's Word that puts the doubts of any grieving parent to rest. Safe in the Arms of God reveals that confidence of heaven for the child you love is based on much more than mere sentimentality; it is revealed in the Word of God and reflective of the very heart of God." ?Nancy Guthrie, author of Holding On to Hope Read more

I read this book to gain insight as to how my son and daughter-in-law are grieving the loss of their second daughter, my granddaughter. She lived 476 days, all in the hospital. Her story is recorded in a book called “The Gift of 476 Days”. Though I recognized her life as a gift from God, there were many other blessings brought out in MacArthur’s book that I am just now noticing. I would recommend this to anyone who has faced or is facing the loss of a precious innocent little one. ... show more

  • Best Book for Child Loss
Our 2 year old passed away suddenly about 6 months ago. We were gifted this book. After 3 miscarriages and losing our sweet toddler, this book was very comforting in providing Biblically solid hope that we will see them all in heaven someday. He provides scripture references and heartbreaking stories of families who have walked through loss. We have purchased many copies already and have already given them to others who have experienced loss. I would absolutely recommend buying this for anyone going through the loss of a pregnancy or young child. ... show more

  • Excellent book
Bought this for my mother and brother, who both lost children, and they both said it helped them immensely. My mother lost a child before me over 65 years ago and she said she wished there had been something like this book back then to help her deal with the loss. My brother lost his 8-year old son in 2002 in a car accident and he needed this as well. I hope it will bring him closer to Christ. I def recommend to any who have lost a child. ... show more

  • Comfort to feel assured of God's care
Having a beautiful newborn baby boy, 8 lb, 3 oz, being taken from us in a matter of minutes was hard to take. The message in the book can comfort grieving parents; it helped to confirm our assurance that our son was in Heaven. The book can also help friends who wish to console but have difficulty with finding words. ... show more

  • Great book
This book discusses what happens to babies and children who die before they reach a condition of accountability. I needed this assurance.

  • Best Book on the Topic
I am quite sure that if one was to scroll through the reviews for this book, one would find a wide array of opinions. Anything from utter hatred to sheer delight. That said, I am quite disappointed in those reviewers who said such caustic things concerning the author of this book. John MacArthur has served the Lord for more years than most of the reviews have been alive and yet they seem to think that they have the inside track on God's mind. That said, I am very pleased to recommend this wonderful little book. John MacArthur does not approach any writing opportunity lightly and this is certainly the case here. My wife and I recently said goodbye to our first child before it was born. We got the heart wrenching news when our child was at 15 weeks. I will never forget the whirlwind of emotions that my wife and I experienced as we were in the labor and delivery room for 18 hours waiting for our deceased child to be born. We had been praying for years that the Lord would bless us with a child and then once my wife finally did get pregnant, the child didn't live anymore than fifteen weeks. It is in times like that that the Christian needs the unshakable stability of God's Holy Word. I am a pastor and the people in our church were looking very closely at us during this situation to see how we would handle it. After all, I have always counseled the people of our church to trust the Lord and be in His Word when the trials come. Now they wanted to see if we practiced that same counsel. John MacArthur's careful exposition of God's Word and His graceful presentation of the truth it contains was a wonderful help. It is abundantly evident that John cares and infinitely more evident that our God cares. Every pastor and every Christian needs to own this book. There are times when we need to be reminded that God is gracious and good and kind and He knows what He is doing. Thank you Pastor MacArthur for sharing your pastor's heart in this way and for looking solely to the Word for your guidance. ... show more

  • Good biblical basis
After our son was born still I had a lot of questions, mostly about where he is now and whether I would get to see him and hold him again. I wanted concrete answers not just socially acceptable encouragement. This book goes into very good detail on biblical passages relating to infant and child death. I did not like how it started (sounded arrogant) but after getting into it I believe the author has done good research. I also did not really need all the sad, personal stories in such detail, but others may appreciate that. Overall it was a good book to reference along with others (Heaven, by Alcorn) that helped me discover what God says about infant death and whether we can have confidence that we'll see our precious boy again. ... show more

  • Scripture Based
Great scriptural in-site to understanding God’s love for children and ultimately trusting in God in all of life’s circumstances. Every parent should by a copy.
