    • Review for the small CAM LOCKS, not for the water heater the product page morphed into.
Between ordering and this review, the product page morphed into a full water heater page, so note that this is only for the camlocks. not for the water heater. The two cam locks are a nice replacement part for the broken camlock on my motorhome's water heater door. Easy to install, especially if you notice the positioning of the spring before you remove the old one. These camlocks work out just fine, but the tabs on these are plastic, as opposed to the steel on the old tab. So, overall, I do not expect these to last as long. Once the burning sun and UV rays get to work on the plastic, I expect it will turn brittle and break off eventually. Like anything plastic does when you travel in very sunny desert areas. Recommended, if you ignore the plastic tab issue and don't mind having to replace them again. But with a pack of two, that's probably not too much of a problem. ... show more

The unit is underpowered. It’s nowhere near as good as it should be. Max temp is 123f and it takes several minutes to reach that, by turning the flow down to the point that the unit will come on. This is 100% of getting what you pay for. It’s cheap, for a reason. Installation requires several fittings that are not the same as the originals, and are not included. Installation is straightforward. Does not work as well as it should. Spend a little extra money on a better unit. ... show more

    • RV Water Heater Cam Lock – simple but really the only fix when yours breaks
If you’ve ever had your RV water heater cam lock break, you know there’s just not another fix other than a new one, but you also know, they can be hard to find. These really deliver the solution. These are very easy to use and quickly snap into place. They provide a very secure lock so your water heater door doesn’t pop open. The spring provides enough play that it fits a variety of doors. The only reason for a four star rather than a five star is the thickness of the locking tab. It makes it very sturdy and will ensure it lasts a long time, however, at least for my door, the slot was very tight fit for the tab. It just took a bit of filing with a metal file to widen the slot, and now it fits fine. I really like that you get two to the pack. I don’t expect for the new one to break anytime soon, but it’s great to know I already have a back-up. I recommend these cam locks for your RV solution. ... show more

    • Exactly what I needed
My RV is going on 20 years old and every little part that you can’t find easily seems to break daily. The little dodad that holds my water hearter cover on broke in my hand when I was trying to install a new anode. I was sure that I was going to have to use duct tape to permantly fix my issue, but low and behold I found a pack of two on Amazon that was delivered in 24 hours! The clip was a a bot hard to figure out how to install, but that was simply my ignorance for not seeing how it was originally installed before breaking it. It was rather easy to install but it did not contain any instructions. The little clip and spring are super strong and in expaect it to last another 20 years. ... show more

    • Works for my Suburban 6 gal
Replaced a missing cam lock for my RV's Suburban 6 gallon water heater. It came with no instructions, but YouTube has no shortage of instructional videos. The trick is to place the spring behind the hole and push the metal tab through, then catch it with the plastic handle. Very easy to install once one learns how. The plastic handle won't mar the painted surface of the cover, but may wear out over time. A metal tab sold by others may mar the surface, but likely to last longer.
