  • HOT HOT WATER, if it's not a song, it should be.
The trailer originally came with the Suburban SW6P - Manual Pilot light only. After swapping the pilot and thermocouple assembly, which dang near burned down the trailer because it became defective, I bought this, the SW6D. The trailer was not wired for it. So, I purchased a Suburban switch with the reset light on it, swapped the shroud and door from the old water heater. I then ran two grounds and a hot to the power distribution center, then followed the wiring schematic, made the water connections, leak checked, made the wiring connections, then gas and leak checked that, then installed a 3AMP fuse on the new slot on the electrical panel and flipped the switch. The reset light stayed on an uncomfortable amount of time but then went out with the distinct sound of the water heater igniting. It shut off, and the reset light came on about three more times on it's own likely due to air in the gas lines, even though I purged all that through the stove right above the water heater. Anyway, the water gets very hot, very fast, and it's been running a couple weeks now with no issues. Previously it would need to be relit several times a week. It's nice having the switch inside too. ... show more

  • RV Water heater
This is a great upgrade from my old attwood. Only thing I don't like is having to buy a door separately.

  • Easy out easy in worked perfectly
If you fairly handy this is easy to do. I think the hardest part was removing the brass inlets as they need to be reused on new tank. Also you have to remove off old unit the very outside flange that goes in outside opening that the screws go through and into rv outside wall to secure it to rv. Make sure to order the Butyl tape 1 inch which is seal that goes between flange and RV and high heat pipe dope. Which is a sealant that you brush on the two brass inlets to sesl from any leaks. If your handy you know all this I added it to review for those that are not as handy at these repairs so they order everything they will need. You will also need to cut the 3 wires that connect heater to rv I soldered them but any good Trish connectors should work. Then you put propane line in checks for leaks with soapy water if no bubbles fire it up. May take a few try’s as propane needs to work it’s way to chamber to fire up. There are plenty of utube videos showing how to replace the old one with new one Just order everything with new tank Amazon has it all do you all set when it arrives. G ... show more

  • LEAKS....
The media could not be loaded. Installation process was super simple and it heats as it should. However, the temperature/pressure relief valve leaked immediately after the water got hot. I'm no expert but the spring on the relief valve feels too loose. I contacted Suburban Customer Service and they told me I needed to take it to a service center to have it diagnosed at my expense and "IF" the service center says the valve is defective, they will cover "CERTAIN" costs. What a joke.... Buy a different brand with better customer service. ... show more
