Not only are they great for metal trash cans, because they are magnets, but there is also an adhesive to attach to a plastic trash can too. The only thing that I found odd was that the adhesive doesn't stick to the circular label, because it's metal, so it's attached by the magnet. This is not an issue though because it doesn't move around, unless you purposely pull it up. However, it works well if you want to use it on a metal trash can later, since you could just pull it off and place the magnet on metal. Overall, I really like these magnet labels, they are cute, and help keep my identical trash cans identified properly, so there is no question of which one is which. ... show more

The magnets received are 3.32" in diameter and nice quality. The images for both Recycling and Trash have a faux wood style which matches the décor of our home. The magnetic backs are strong and hold around the circle flush. The Recycling magnet has minor indents on the front, probably due to packaging, but nothing critical. These also come with rectangular metal stickers. This is excellent for my scenario, as the top of our trash can is plastic, and the sides are stainless steel. If we want to, we can stick the metal sliver with 3m double sided tape onto the top of our trash to allow the magnet to attach there as well. NOTE: In my picture, the metal looks blue as it has a blue protective film on it. For now we'll keep it on the front, however we have the option now to move it to the top later! ... show more

These magnets are a fantastic addition to my indoor pails for trash and recyclables. They attach easily, thanks to their strong magnetism, and the Rae Dunn style that they have is a chic touch. Truly a fan of these. Overall, these magnets are incredibly useful. Whenever my dad visits, he has a habit of throwing his garbage in with my recyclables (and we take recycling quite seriously in my house). We haven’t had that problem since adding these to our pails. We have them positioned right on the lid, clearly labeling each pail and leaving no room for confusion. I have two large steel trash bins in my kitchen, so these magnets have been a great help in differentiating between the two bins - especially when I have guests. These magnets look nice and stick well to the bins. They even came with adhesive metal pieces that could be attached to non-magnetic bins, then you could put the magnets on those metal pieces. I have two bins side by side and always have guests asking which is which ... well, now they know. These magnets stick well to the outside of the stainless-steel bins and if your bins aren't stainless, there are sticky tabs added to help with adhesion.     • Cute & match some of our kitchen stuff
I have a few of the 'Rae Dunn' inspired kitchen decor - The cutesy skinny capital letters on stuff. Although the originals by her were all in ceramic, there are many knock off products like this that match. ANyway, these are cute and work great on metal. Or, if you have a non metal trash can, they include a sticky backed set of discs that these will attach to on just about any other trash can material. We have a dual sided can that's metal but has a plastic lid, so we had to use the discs to attach these to the lid. The only issue os that the lid has a slight curve, so these sort of stick out instead of conforming to the lid. I may end up removing them and just make vinyl stickers instead, but for now, they're there and I might eventually try to work them into a slight curve to fit better. ... show more
