I really like this little trash can for my bathroom. It fits perfectly beside my toilet. I like that visitors can’t see what’s in my trash when using my bathroom. And since I use pads every day, the smell is contained. It opens when you wave over it and closes gently. It has worked just fine since I put the batteries in it. Update 5/30/24. I was so happy with this little trash can. But when I went to change to bag last night one of the hinges broke. I need to find out how to contact the seller to see if I can get a replacement hinge!     • Does not Function as Marketed
Though purchased months ago, kept this item in its original shipping packaging until I begin using within the last 25 days. Attempting use of this product has proven to be frustrating and stressful. It just does not function as marketed. Have purchased 3 sets of the required batteries (an expensive endeavor), trying to rule out possible defective batteries. Have concluded that it is definitely not the batteries but the item. The top of this receptacle is not motion activated. It does not open. Turning it on and off activates the motion sensor for a quick second before it is again completely deactivated. Moreover, manually opening this item is very difficult. In addition to the expense of multiple battery packs, the frustration of having to manually open this product with each use is simply not worth it. If awarding a lower star was possible, that certainly would have been my preference. ... show more

    • Don’t drop the lid
Really like the trash can. But was changing batteries in lid, dropped it and the hinge I broke. Would not work. Disappointed in the cost and that the lid would break so easily. Otherwise, very nice trash can.

I love the trash can. I like how it vacuums the bag down. Great size for a bathroom. It does take 4 AA batteries. I suggest to buy rechargeable batteries, so you don't have to keep buy them. Buy 8 AA batteries and once depleted, just change them and recharge the used ones. But it is a a great product. I bought 2 of them for both of my bathrooms. ... show more

Coolest small auto-open/close bathroom trash receptacle. Wave your hand or put your knee near it. Wah-lah..it opens. Best part is the bag auto sucks the air out to press bag against the sides. My husband still misses the opening, so if you're buying because of your hubby, don't bother! LOL

    • Great until it inevitably broke
The trash can worked great until the hinge broke, like other reviewers stated. My hinge broke after less than a year making the lid inoperable, and there doesn't appear to be a way to contact the manufacturer to get a replacement lid.
