  • Nice Winch for the price.
Model: 12000LB Synthetic rope
Great product. Came nicely packaged, Pretty straight forward installation, The battery cables were nice and long enough to reach the battery in the back of the engine compartment. The 2 wireless remotes worked great!! All in all it was a good value for what you got. I haven't used it yet, so hopefully when I need it, it won't let me down... ... show more

  • Works well with a lot of strangth
Model: 12000LB Synthetic rope
After my husband installed it it worked great with the attached controller. The remotes would not work. I contacted the company and they quickly sent new remotes and the control part that attaches to the winch. Couldn't ask for better service. This will be great for when my husband is out in the woods. ... show more

  • A seemingly sturdy winch, with the cheapest electrical parts ever
Model: 12000LB Synthetic rope
Got this for my tj wrangler, and it seemed like a good bargain. Winch is heavy, seems to be constructed nicely, and I have used it already to pull a 3/4 ton truck out of the sugar sand, he got stuck in. This Main issues with the winch, are electrical related. First and foremost, the "power cables". Never in my life have I found a cheaper, flimsier, more poorly built set of "cables" in my life. I trimmed the red power cable to fit, and the crimp on a terminal. The "cable" is super-flimsy, so I decided to cut open the piece I trimmed off, to see what was inside. Imagine my surprise/disappointment to find a bunch of loose wires, just laying inside the jacket. They aren't twisted, braided or otherwise compacted together to form a cable. They are literally just a hollow tube of red plastic filled with loose, bare wires. The first time these get a serious load on them, they will start individually melting, and the "cable" will fail. That is the secret to the flexibility, there is no cable here, just a tube of loose wires, as thick as strands of human hair. SERIOUSLY. The remotes, previously mentioned by multiple posters, are cheap, junky plastic, reminiscent of a cereal box toy, or a cheap party favor given out at a kids birthday party. They are absolute garbage. After a single use, one of mine died, so i had to use the spare. (Obviously the reason for 2 remotes in the first place, they know they are junk) I have a battery disconnect switch between the winch and battery, for safety and to ensure this thing doesn't drain my battery, due to failed electronics. I am going to rewire the entire winch, from battery, to and including, the relay box, with actual battery cables, and see how it will perform then. The last pic shows the bolt for the Fairless, mounted to my Hooke Road bumper. After tightening the bolts (with blue Loctite added) I had to use the death-wheel, and cut the bolt off flush with the nut, to mount this winch. Look closely, there's enough clearance for a credit card between the bolt and winch frame. It's tight, but it will fit. I did get a cover for it too, mostly to help protect the synthetic line from UV damage. For the money, it is a solid winch, it just has craptastic electronics. I would have gladly paid more, for real cables, and a remote that didn't seem like a poor kids favorite cereal prize. ... show more

  • not as pictured
Model: 12000LB Synthetic rope
Winch seems okay. The hardware was junk, buy new bolts if you get this winch. It also did not come with the snatch block that is pictured which was the main reason for the low star rating. We will see how it holds up.

  • Smooth with plenty of power pulling my boat onto the trailer even in the steepest ramp.
Model: 12000LB Synthetic rope
Good value and easily performs the task I need. Glad I went with the synthetic rope and not the wire cable, saved about 20lbs on overall weight. I use it to pull my 18' Lund Alaskan out of the water onto the trailer. Plenty of power to achieve this task. I know 12,000lbs winch sounds like overkill but I tried a 3500lbs winch and it was not able to do the job. Rugcel has been a very good company to work with. Very responsive to my needs and easily communicated with. They helped me when the first winch was too weak and steered me to the one that got my job done with no hesitation. My advise when buying a winch is to figure out the weight of your object to be pulled and buy a winch rated at least 6 times the weight rating. ... show more

  • Great Value!
Model: 12000LB Synthetic rope
I've been reading a LOT of reviews on wenches, and decided to take the plunge with this RUGCEL 12000 lb. capacity w/synthetic rope. For the price and features this wench offers, I believe its the best value on the market at the moment. The (2) remotes work great! The installation was a breeze and looks awesome! I've not had an opportunity to use it on the trails yet, but have used it pulling some brush and small trees from our land. Worked flawless! ... show more

  • Easy mount and install
Model: 12000LB Steel rope
Looks great and works great the only thing that brings it down to 3 stars is the plugin controller only work coming out, but not going back in. But the wireless controllers work perfectly

  • Strong and Resilient
Model: 12000LB Synthetic rope
I bought this winch (12,000) 3 years ago. I have done 7-8 recoveries and it has performed great. The front bumper has been under water several times yet the winch has never failed. If you guys come out with an upgraded winch I would like to test it for you!
