I got the 13500 and have only had it for a week now and have got to use it 3 times so far. I am pulling trucks up on to a large tilt bed equipment trailer. These trucks are loaded with scrap iron and weigh up to 8000lbs loaded and this winch has absolutely no problem pulling them on the trailer. I'm with everyone else that you do have to wire up the winch when you get it and not sure why they just don't do it before sending it. Everything worked just fine on the install and wiring for me except for the 2 wireless remotes. The remotes did work but the buttons were backwards, as in was out and out was in. The wired controller worked just like was supposed to so I had to take the cover off the control box and switch 2 of the wireless control wires with each other. It was two of the wires right on top, I believe it was the white and yellow from the wireless control box that I swapped places with. If everything was put together before shipping they could test all of this. I'm happy with it so far and if something changes I will try to give a fallow up review. ... show more

This is a nice looking winch at a great price point. Installation was easy and it seems to work fine though I have yet to use it for any significant recoveries and such. My one complaint is the manual. It is a great looking manual but it does not have any installation instructions other than where the electrical connections go. There is also nothing in the manual about how to use/charge the remote control. Also, it appears that Rugcel does not have a website, strange these days. ... show more

Very easy to wire up took about an hour and it was Ready to go. Used it for first time pulling a 4 wheeler up on my dump bed, haven't really put a big load to the test yet, so far haven't a complaint one. Fit same bolt holes as my old one. For the price is a Must Buy!! Thanks Amazon.....👍

We’ve used it a few times and it works well. The build quality is ok, some of the holes don’t line up perfectly but I was able to get it all together and it does work.

I bought this with the intention of infrequent but critical use. I advise wiring up the controller first. Alignment of the control box bolts is a bit off from the threaded bolt holes on top of the winch. The only install instructions are a wiring diagram (useful) at the back of the operating manual. The interrupt switch was a useful surprise - figured out where to put it on the fly. There was plenty of wiring cable to battery for my Jeep Gladiator. My test run was quiet and easy - worked the first time both wired and wireless. The hook clamping to the face plate with just winch taughtness is tidy and cool. ... show more

Just got a new winch. Should have learned the last time. The 20k winch is junk. No, worse than junk. Junk still has value. The thing is so slow that a newborn can walk faster. The thing cracked in two places either while being installed or during the first job. Picture attached. Many reviews point out that the included cover is not in the box. I found that to be the case also. They are aware of this, but choose to do nothing. The winch is a pain to put together. Most winches come with the control box already wire in. No reason not to. Wires are not long enough for a remote location. Has to be on top of the winch anyway. Release handle sticks. Do like the remote controls. Rope lasted less than a week. After 3 months of use, I realize it was a very bad purchase. Free spool doesn’t! Have to pull real hard, or hook to something and pull back with the vehicle. Or, use the motor to reel out. Motor is very noisy. Not a quality product. After 6 months, the reel slips regularly. Put a load on it and the gears jump, loosening the line. Remote operation is inconsistent at best. ... show more

Very powerful winch, my use case is limited as it will be for light recoveries. However as a quick test I pulled a 5k suv with a 4k camper up my 6% incline driveway and it didn’t break a sweat. I also love the Blue logo as it matches the 4xe color. Not sure if this is a new model since I didn’t specify a color. ... show more
