The Merach R-02 rowing machine arrived very well packaged and protected and secure and was very easy to assemble and only had one tiny error in having an incorrect style of washer in the connector kit - a very minor issue. All comments we had read about how quiet the unit is while in use are true, when my Wife is using it I can’t even hear it in the next room and when I use it and am quite a bit heavier the sound is still smooth and quiet. I am 5’10 and the length of the rails are perfect with several inches to spare, but not sure if a person 6’4” would be a good fit. As far as weight they say 350 lbs is tops and I’m 230 lbs and it’s solid enough to easily handle my weight and power. If you are stronger I would probably consider the version that has water and magnetic resistance combined. We only have the magnetic resistance which is on the light side for me resistance wise but perfect for my Wife who is 100lbs lighter ! We currently have about 12,000 cycles / pulls on this unit and it seems as though we will get over 100,000 before possibly having to replace the rail seat wheels ( just a feeling, nothing scientific with that comment ). I had a hip replacement recently and found this was a perfect workout prior to and physical therapy after the surgery and really helped with range of motion and getting a light aerobic workout. The intensity is up to you, dial up resistance level and control your speed as you desire and you can also decide how deep of a rowing load sliding motion / extension you want. We’ve had this for about three months. All in all the quality, design and usefulness is of greater value than the cost which was way less than most other options. Have used this every day for 3 weeks so far. I bought this based on review comparisons and the fact that I did not want or need an expensive rower at this point. I wanted a lower impact home workout machine, and have enjoyed using rowers at the gym. So far this fits the bill. I set this machine up in less than 15 minutes, you may want to have a small wrench ready to make things easier though you could get away with all the tools provided and be fine. It’s not heavy but is still sturdy. I set it up on a floor mat and it is rock solid when I work out on it. It has a simple display and is pretty intuitive- if you get the free app from MERACH it will Bluetooth to the machine - I can’t comment on that as I have not used that function yet but I have verified that it connects. So far customer service (questions about the app) has been timely. Using the machine is easy, it’s very smooth and as others have pointed out- pretty quiet. It is quite the workout for me- and I haven’t taken it past level 10 yet. Does not fold up, but will stand up to take less space. The only reason it has four stars is that I wish it had more resistance. It is easy to assemble and even easier to understand how to use! The display is clear and simple to understand. The seat slides so smoothly and feels great for a long workout. It is by far one of the most quiet rowers I have used. Practically silent. It is easy to move and store as well. I expected it to be heavier and so the weight makes it an easy move for almost everyone. The quality of this rower at this price range is top notch.     • A great compact rowing machine
Style: Q1S - Magnetic
This rowing machine is great. It works very well, has good resistance settings, and stands up to save space. My brother-in-law used it at our house and ordered one for himself. I admit I have not used the smart features. I'm glad it has them but its not really something I am interested in. The fact that it works without needing to be plugged in or have the electronics active is good. The seat is comfortable enough and slides smoothly on the rails. Installation was pretty easy. There are essentially three things that need to be screwed on. Each has a different number of holes and that number matches the number of screws for each size. For example, there are four screws of one size so you know those go to the thing that requires four screws. There are three screws of another size so you know they are for the thing that needs three screws. I am visually impaired so I usually need help reading instructions but I didn't with this. It took about 1/2 hour once I got everything laid out and most of that was just screwing in the screws. One complaint I have is that the allen wrench that came with this is very soft. It was worn out before I finished installing and would not turn any of the screws tightly without pulling out. I had to find a matching wrench I already had in order to finish the job. ... show more
