For the cheap price this cant be beat. I'm going to be giving birth in a few weeks and we needed something to keep the dogs out of the living room. Install was super easy though the sticky pads weren't very great at holding them in place. We installed ours directly into our doorframe so my husband just held the snaps where they needed to be and I drilled the screws right in. However these snaps/clasps do appear to be made of cheap plastic. I suspect in a couple months I'll have to rig up a makeshift metal replacement when one inevitably breaks, but for only about $30 for this gate I don't mind having to do that. This worked perfect for my family as our dogs are very obedient and don't attempt to jump gates. However, if your dog is destructive or likes to jump I could see the plastic sheeting and clips easily busting and ripping with a single good try. Same can be said for any rowdy toddlers. If a simple sheet and plastic would do the trick for your situation this is great. If you need something that can take a beating this won't replace a classic metal gate. ... show more

I installed this on my deck so my dog can roam the deck freely but not get into the yard (until I am ready). It installs fairly easily and working it is very easy. For the dog, I do not have to lock it but it is lockable if you have children. I think it would work great in many different areas, both indoors and out. Retracts quickly and easily. ... show more

We have a large opening between our living room and dining area that we wanted to be able to block off for both our toddler and our large dog, and this was one of the few that was wide enough and also retractable. LOVE the overall construction, the fact that it's tall enough to prevent our dog from jumping it, and that it tucks away neatly and can be locked/unlocked. Main issues we've had with it are the plastic hardware being prone to cracking. Not through regular use, but for things like a 100+ lb. dog trying to use it as a vertical hammock or a toddler yanking on it. As I said, not regular use per-se, but wear and tear that might be common for people who need gates in the first place. We bought two of these and went through the backup hardware slowly over the last couple years as pieces broke, and this is the third gate we've bought, mainly because we needed more hardware but they don't sell it separately. Would buy this gate again, but would love to be able to buy a separate hardware set or have the hardware being made out of something sturdier. ... show more

This was super easy to install and it’s super easy to use. I love that it is retractable. Great price and quality. It doesn’t feel cheaply made at all. It looks great in our space as well. I bought this gate for when my nephew was staying with me and it worked great; however, it doesn’t hold up to dogs very well. My 4 year old German Shepherd knows how to jump regular gates and when she went to jump this one, when no one was around, the plastic pieces that slide in to secure the gate open completely snapped. When we looked at it she didn’t appear to have pulled on it a lot for it to break. It’s definitely a good gate unless you have dogs who like to jump gates. ... show more

I purchased 2 of these for my home and don't regret it one bit! They are so easy to use and easy to install! I really enjoy the gray and it looks so nice in my home. It's nice to have the spaces open when my son is sleeping or not using that easy and helps keep my house from feeling so closed off. I can say that the install can be tricky if you don't have a partner to help. Bought to keep our dogs off the deck when we have company or on the deck when it’s raining. Looks good easy to install, very easy to use. Worked for the dogs for about 15 minutes. Then they learned it’s only fabric and could easily go under it. Oh well. Still nice product.

Update - The seller saw my initial 1 star review and reached out to me. They offered to send me an updated gate at no charge. The new updated gate has remedied the largest issues on the earlier design. It's been up a week or two and hasn't broken yet. Pro's - it's cheap and attractive Con's - the mounting points aren't at the same height on both sides so mounting to block off stairs can be difficult. Bigger con - lasted about a month with kids before it broke and won't stay closed. Thankfully there were no injuries. Bonus pro - fits well in the trash bin almost as if it was destined to end up there. Coincidence or design feature? Hard to say. Might be good for small dogs. ... show more
