I looked at a number of different dumbbell sets, mulled the decision weighing pros and cons of each and ultimately went with this set. The main factor I chose these was because of the grip, the fully knurled handle is much more comfortable in the hand then the so called "Ergo handles" that are contoured. Shipping was fast! Freight company called to organize everything and gave me a heads up when they were 30 mins away. I ordered these last week and received the shipment today, but am very disappointed in the sloppy craftsmanship and poor quality. I took pics and attached here to show why I am disappointed. These have not been used, as I literally took them out of the crate in the past hour. The handles look like many of them were dropped/abused before the dumbbell heads were placed on them, as the knurling is dented or nicked. On a few of the pairs, the handle must have been hit so hard that the nick caused the metal to "flake" out and it scratches your hands when holding the dumbbell. There doesn't seem to be a good quality assurance process in place, as the finishing on these is poor as you can see. I'm honestly shocked, as Rep has a good reputation and so many good reviews. Hopefully I just received a bad set, but unfortunately I was just purchasing this one set to determine whether I wanted to buy the 7 other sets I need for my studio from Rep. I don't have any confidence that these will last long at all. I have purchased many other rubber hex sets in the past, and although rubber hex is not known as being the highest quality dumbbell available, they were all much better made than this set. ... show more

These are great quality dumbbells, for a fair price. You can certainly find cheaper sets, but you won't find a set this nice, at this price, anywhere else. Build quality is great. The knurling is awesome. The included rack is top notch. I'm very happy with the set; I'm finding lots of uses for these for accessory work to supplement my main lifts, which are all barbell-based. ... show more
