The media could not be loaded. For the price, you can't beat it! This thing is a very capable crawler. The blue one's body style would have worked better for my uses but the red just looks so pretty on this truck. You get an LCG and portal axles for this price! I did play with this thing stock and it works really well if it's for a kid or someone new to crawling. It does not come with batteries so you'll have to factor that in. I currently run this on a 2200mah 3s lipo and I get amazing times. I like to upgrade/mod things and this crawler already has some pretty good aftermarket support. Transmitter feels pretty nice in the hand and it's very easy to use. So far I've only done light modifications to this (wheels, tires, springs, shock oil, body trimming). I will say though, the ESC is kind of loud and the drag brake on it isn't the best. ESC will probably be my next upgrade for it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I’ll admit it’s a slippery slope with upgrades. I ended up doing a lot to this truck that I never thought I would when I bought it. Probably spent an extra hundred dollars with a brushless fusion se 1800kv motor/esc plus some weights. Being able to take the back off of the blue body is the key to avoid body the wheels rubbing the body. But man, this crawls as well as a $1000 custom built comp crawler. It outperforms the scx10 every time. I’m so impressed with this truck. You can always add things down the road. But the bones of the ascent are hard to beat. It’s just a good crawler. I have one full size crawler. This is it. It rocks. That’s all I can say. ... show more

Insane value for what it is. The shocks are super stiff out of the box because of the inner spring to keep the shocks from unloading - but after I swapped shocks, it was a whole different beast. Coupling a good amount of droop, some good tires/wheels and a little bit of rearranging under the body makes this thing pretty much a comp ready truck. ... show more

This has been my favorite rtr I've purchased in the last 25 years, it's a great truck and offers a lot for under 300 bucks. I really don't have anything negative to say about it. I think it's one of the best looking trucks out.

This is a great RTR crawler! Having said that, the design of some of the components leaves a lot to be desired. Screws that should be easily accessible, are impossible to access without some level of disassembly. Only reason I got this off AMAZON was it was sold out everywhere else when I decided to pull the trigger. 1. Regardless of you're a seasoned vet in the RC game, a beginner or trying to get into comp crawling, this is the rig for you. Are there better vehicles? Yes Will you upgrade stuff? Yes That being said, for the money, this is one of the best rigs you can get. Out of the box it is dope. I personally upgrade electronics, wheels and shocks ( outside of Factory Team and Incision) in all my RTR's and that still stands true for this one. The difference: when upgrade them things in other RTR's, it just makes them better than what they were, making those few upgrades on this RC Ascent, will turn this thing into a badazzz rig. I have crawlers from Vanquish to Laegendary. I feel I have a decent, valued opinion in the crawler world and I don't think anyone has or will be disappointed in this Redcat. ... show more

Bought this after rave reviews on YouTube. Stock it will satisfy those new to crawling or a seasoned vet like myself. Included under drive to the truck is game changer on the rocks. The 2 piece body is worth the extra $$ over the one piece. Gives you options should you want to run the cab only. Loads of upgrades can be added from the Gen8 and Gen9 models. Mine now HW Fusion SE, Pro-Line Tires, dual stage foams, upgraded shocks and wheels to name a few. Great buy ... show more
